Grandfather's Watch

Good evening my friends. I have just been given an old Omega that was owned by my late Grandfather. It was given to him in 1976.

Any information as to the reference, year etc. would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Damien

Reference number is located on inside of back case.
Age is probably pretty close to the 1976 that is engraved on it.

Many thanks.

Any idea what model this may be? It looks very close to a SeaMaster De Ville. I am curious why there is no text below the hand stack?

Regards,

Damien

I love it- and it has meaning to you. Enjoy it!

I think this is the first real grandfather watch story on TRF.

Thanks Ralphie,

The watch means a lot to me. Unfortunately I am not well versed in Omega references. I'm hoping to get some info on this forum.

Any idea is that would be real gold?

Regards.

Damien, I don't think that is real gold, but a gold overlay. Usually solid gold cases have hallmarks on the lugs or caseback. Also, typically a stainless steel caseback isn't paired with a gold case, but a plated one. But it is a very nice watch, especially with a loved ones history. Wear it in good health.
