Look what I picked up on the weekend!

Hi guys,

Well I was told I would have to wait 6-8 weeks for the next delivery, but I got a surprise very early!

I love this watch, and think its a really beautiful dial, much more interesting that just the plain black dial with painted numerals.

Let me know what you think!

P.S. I will build the suspense for you all, as I haven't told you what I bought, hehe!

Nice score.

A far rarer sight around these forums than the "common" SS Daytona.

Hi everyone, thanks for the words, it truly is an amazing watch. It does look big on my wrist, but then again the GMT looks smaller, even though when you compare them they are quite similar in diameter.

Terry it is a 79320 calibre movement, automatic winding with 44 hour power reserve (yet to test).

The accuracy has been a little of, although I haven't run it in yet so I am not worried about it.

One thing that is amazing, you can hear/feel the rotor winding up the watch when you move your wrist and hear the winding noise of the watch. It is not as quiet as the GMT but its a fantastic sensation and you can just slightly hear it when you move your wrist on the computer.

Loving it at the moment!

I love the IWC Spitfire Chronny...the Sport Lareaus is gorgeous as well. Son of Bluesy...

Excellent work buddy, I'm a big fan of IWC.

You should be proud to wear that beautiful watch.

Wear it in good health.

Beautiful watch. I'm starting to love chronographs more and more as I see all the great offerings out there. Enjoy.

Attila, I can relate with what you said about hearing as well as feeling the rotor move.
I had an IWC Da Vinci - abeit for a very short while and I too could feel and hear both.
Which takes a bit of getting use to, when you have only have been use to Rolex watches, which are virtually silent, apart from maybe the Daytona, which when I tried one had a slight rotor movement though it is a more complicated a movement.

Thanks for the kind words all!

Yes I do believe it is an in house movement. Although I am not perfectly sure, I will check.
