Polar Explorer II 16570

Introducing my 16570 Polar Explorer II! Managed to find this gem in great shape with boxes and papers, and today is its debut.

As much as I love my GMT II C and Yachtmaster, I missed having something on the more on the casual side (i.e. no PCLs). Wish I hadn't sold my Black 42mm 216570, but I'm really loving the 40mm size on the white dial!

I'm weirdly drawn to this watch and am actually debating if I should sell my BLNR, get this, and have additional funds for another Rolex such as a ND sub or a nice TT DJ. Great shot and hi from a fellow Angeleno.

That model was my 1st Rolex and I wore it daily for 10 years without a hitch. Then flipped for a white dialed Daytona. Great find - who knows - if it's an A s/n it could be my old one!

Beautiful watch and nice shoes. :) There's a lot of satisfaction in owning a 16570.

Here's mine, no box, no paps, no mama, no papa but it's been terminally cool every day since 1991. :)

Hello from across town to you as well! I grew to love the 16570 over time, and found myself in that same dilemma. Still very attached to the GMT II C (and YM), so it's gonna be a decision for another day..

Newbie around here and definitely new to Rolex. This watch caught my eye while surfing and is a contender for my first Rolex. I like this version much better than the new one. Thanks for sharing the great pics!

I'm in precisely this (admittedly first world!) dilemma myself, wondering whether to flip my BLNR (my first Rolex, something I waited years to own) for the black dial 16570 because it just seems leaner and meaner....

I haven't flipped mine so far and after wearing my AP diver and Pam submersible for a few weeks I'm kind of in a second honeymoon with the BLNR. I think if you don't rotate every so often you get bored and jaded with the same watch. Now I'd want to see the polar on my wrist first to reconsider

Thanks all! Four months in now, and it's been getting lots and lots of wrist time. =)

This one has been the go-to timepiece for the more casual days at work + the weekend adventures in a t-shirt and jeans.
