Traveling with your montblanc?

How do you store your montblanc or nice pen when you travel? Do you use a particular individual pen case and toss it in your business bag or travel bag? Or if you go to work do you again put your pen in a case and toss it in a section of your business bag or do you use those little nylon slots in some bags?

I use a case to protect my pens, usually a Mont Blanc, OMAS, or Montegrappa when I travel.

Single pen case if I am going to put it in my bag or case. Shirt or coat pocket if going to work or traveling via car

Yeah... I don't worry about it. In your pocket or briefcase / bag I have never had any issues.

However when I travel, I take along my MB Traveler FP set. Cartridge only FP with a lovely OM nib. Has traveled the world with me.

You have to love the case which encompass 1 pen and 6 cartridges. Wrapped in leather and ready for anything!

I put it in my briefcase clipped in the pen slot during the week. On the weekend, I'll put a BP or RB in my pocket or just clipped in my shirt.

If wearing a suit coat it is in the inside pen pocket. If not it is inside and inside pocket of my briefcase.

The six pens that I've brought back to the UK this time are in MB leather two-pen cases, which are then inside the dust bags. These are then kept collectively in a kids Converse pencil case, which stays in my hand luggage during travel.

I do not travel for work any more. When I did, the Montblanc was in my shirt or coat pocket as I wore a suit/tie. After work in the hotel, it rested by my Rolex or Tudor on a night stand.

So it seems not that many people use the Montblanc single pen case then?

Beautiful. Do you just toss them in your bag and head on a trip or to work?

I do not travel often by plane but I do travel in a car a lot…as I am retired(so to speak). I usually carry two MontBlanc fountain pens and sometimes a third one… a Pilot Justus95 fountain pen. This Pilot FP can be adjusted to being firm or you twist the body of the pen up by the nib and it can become flexible(it has a gold bar that slides up or down to change the firmness or flexibility). Also you can adjust the pen in any position in between the two extremes!!!

In the Summer I just clip one of the MontBlanc's to my T-Shirt…..

Take care…..Leo

Pretty much, will be taking 2 with me this weekend(to match different attire.) I just slip one in my coat pocket and one in my bag for the next day.

I've been using a standard montegrappa box, got a beater one, with 3 pens in Omas sleeves. I've been thinking about going to a Visconti 3 pen case but that zipper running right down the middle of the cap side worries me.

So to go back and answer this question..:

I love all my fountain pens. When I travel I always take a travel journal in which to document our travels. Perhaps two just in case I fill the first one up. I have a 5 pen leather pen case from "Renaissance Art" now Innovative Journaling that I take with me. They are the very best that I have found.

Expensive, but worth every single penny!
