holding all of you responsible for feeding my addiction and now its out of hand! YMII

ok so ive put a few posts up inregards to moving on my Deepsea knowing ive got my sub as a daily and a Pam for my "big watch" days... i was looking at trading it for something a little more dressier like a daytona and now this has come from left field......
I had a local guy contact me last night with a 4 mth old SS Yachtmaster 2 that hes worn twice(purchased 21 jan 2016)...
He has wants a trade for my DSSD and $5k(USD) his way..keeping in mind mine is 2012 model

now im bloody tempted for the fact that it is a spectacular watch and that its virtually brand new with full waranty and my DSSD doesnt owe me that much in comparison as ive had it for years....... is it worth the $5k difference?
do the YMII have any resale if i cjhange my mind in a few months or a year?

help?

It would be for me. Ok. Maybe I'd split another $500 with him so $3750.

5k isn't horrible...4-4.5k would be better. I think the YMII would fit in nicely with what you have.

Is the pic of the actual watch? If so, why not a green tag that comes with 5 year warranty?

I think the trade is fair buck more buck less. Your DSSD is worth what... About 8?

I wouldn't dare questioning caveman Mike but 3500 sounds too aggressive.

DSSD is a bit of a grail for me, but I would still do it. That YM looks the biz

It's a pretty good deal mate - maybe try to pull it down to 4-4.5k.

Seems fair to me. If you were to sell your DSSD for $8k, and add $6k you could probably buy your YM2 brand new via trusted seller. Essentially you'd be out an extra grand to go brand new. I'm not saying you should do that, 4 month old YM2, full set, 5 year warranty all sounds good to me, just think you should know all your options.

yeah... im torn on this one... my concern is if i dont want it in a year from now the demographic in Australia to buy these is prob very small... you are also looking at same pricing for a Gold Rolex or a patek etc...for a beautiful Stainless steel watch( and it is beautiful!). thats the only thing holding me back... a little part of me just tells me to swap it for a daytona and be done with it lol!

It's a good deal. YM II is a worth $13K and it's a better watch in my opinion.

The numbers you have gotten here are very good advice. 4k would be a better deal in my estimation. YM2 is awsome. Love mine. Alot.

Really depends of the condition of your DSSD. You may be due for a pressure test and will need a service some what in the near future. You could factor that in and not be doing too bad by that deal.

8K for the DSSD seems low to me, unless it's in bad condition. I would pay 4k on top.

Fair deal. Not screaming good. But it's fair. Two very different watched. Just depends what you like. Keep in mind you could keep the DSSD and take the 5K (plus maybe a little more) to a trusted seller and end up with a great watch in addition to the DS
