New RM35-02 Ronald McDonald Edition

Just saw this new updated version of the 35 -which is one of the best looking RM's out there IMHO- while I love the red quartz tpt and the new automatic movement the strap just doesnt seem to fit in. I also heard from a friend that they are still keeping the NTPT cases so if quartz TPT isnt your thing you could go that route.

What do you guys think. Feel free to chime in

Nice call on the name. Technically impressive both case and movement but the color scheme is out there for sure.

A black strap would be more pleasing to me. Amazing watch though

Who cares. Change the strap. As much I want to think I want the carbon, I think I am buying this one in red. Use the old 35 and 55 straps on it assuming they all fit, which they should.

reminds me of Iron Man..

I would think the case dimensions would be exactly the same as the 35-01 but the specs say its longer and thinner..

35-02 49.94 x 44.5 x 13.15mm
35-01 49.94 x 42.0 x 14.05mm

which would make it as thin as the bubba watson model.. which I do not prefer

Love the watch. Not too crazy about the yellow strap combo.

Just change straps not a big deal. All of this crying over something that takes 2 minutes to change. Give me a break.

Lame thread title.

There are already waiting lists for it, so seems real RM buyers love it.

Haters will hate no surprise.

Hideous strap but incredibly easy fix. I bet it's on black.

Tough to beat the classic 35-01, but I'm sure they have buyers for it.

Yellow accenting doesn't do it for me here. Hard pass for me.

Hard pass? Are you in the $145k watch market--have a feeling no

Yellow accents you mean yellow strap that can be changed in 2 minutes? Who cares about the strap...you're buying the watch.

Too funny.

Red and yellow are the most common hues not seen by the color blind. I'm wondering if this is a marketing strategy to identify and saturate their color blind market share.

You don't know what watch market I'm in or not in. Given that most of the members here skew towards the very wealthy given that we all have at least an interest in Rolex, if not a few Rolexes ourselves, I'm surprised you'd make an assumption about what watches anyone around here can afford or not. One of my favorite books is "The Millionaire Next Door" -- it taught me a valuable lesson about what wealth may or may not look like.

And no, I don't mean the yellow strap. If I meant the yellow strap, I would've said yellow strap. I meant the yellow accenting on the watch -- and in my opinion, it is a poor design decision given that red is the primary color. I would've preferred black/silver/white accenting over yellow.

I love how some people can't stand others giving their opinion, because it's RM, because it costs 145k, and because I don't know what else, all should find it amazing and applause, and the ones who don't intend any day soon to put 145k in a watch should not even be permitted to have an opinion, I find it awful, even with another strap, the thing is red for Christ sakes, I can understand if people love it, the material is surely incredible like always with RM, and it is definitely a technological achievement, and if you love red and want a red watch great, but you need different strokes for different folks, and thank God that some people find awful what others love, if not the watch industry, as well as the rest of the world, would be very very boring, you don't need to be very creative if all your clients like the same thing, there are things I love that others find awful, fine by me, everyone has the right of thought and opinion, at least they should.
A french philosopher once said "I don't agree with you, but I will fight as much as I can for you to express your opinion", the world would be such a nicer place if all thought like him

Paul, why do you feel the need to jump to RM's defence every time anyone states anything less than glowing praise for them?

We all know, or should at least by now, that you think the sun shines out of RM's backside, and their products are the best thing since sliced horological bread — so you can relax, safe in the knowledge we've got the message.
