15300 x 15400

I've been looking for a good deal on a 15400 here in Brasil and cound't find one. I talked To my grey dealer and he managed To get a really good deal on a 15300 instead and sent me the pictures below. I know its getting hard To find one, specially in good condition. My collection is composed by a 26400 (44mm and sportie), Pam090 (44 and sportie), Gmt 116710 (40 and sportie) and an Explorer 16570 (polar, 40 and sportie). I am trading my Pam and the Gmtc plus Us$1300 cash for the 15300. What do you guys think?

The condition looks pretty good, considering it's an "F" serial (it appears to show an "F" on the caseback). I think it's a fair deal if it's complete with box, papers and full links. IMHO the 15300 white dial is the best looking of the 3 available dial colours.

They have been discontinued for a few years now. People who have them will flip them when something else catches their eye.

Foxman, your screenshot shows no watches for sale in the last two months. Those listings are super old. 15300s ARE hard to find, especially black or blue dials. I've seen asking prices over BNIB 15400 prices.

I would do it. I own a 15300 Blue Dial which I bought a few years ago. I recently tried on a 15400 as I have a 7 3/4" wrist to see how it fitted. Preferred the 15300 and kept it. You can get it cleaned up by AP in a couple of years and it will look brand new again.

Pull the trigger!

To be honest I like the 15300, but not at the actual asking prices, like an idiot I passed 2 years ago on a mint blue dial, for 8.900 euros, full set, I bought other watches at the time, most of which I flipped since, and when I started to look for one 6 months ago, the prices calmed me.
Basically when you see the not very big difference between a Jumbo and many 15300's, it seems to me I would put the extra cash and get the 15202, but I am a blue dial fan and love extra thin watches.
Can't believe I didn't get that blue dial 15300 at that price, which was clearly a bargain when you see for how much they go now, what an idiot, but almost at the same moment I got a Patek 5712 and my thirst for a SS blue dial watch was more or less satisfied, but still often regret it...

No wrong dial color on the 300. All outstanding dials for different tastes.

Depends on your wrist size and the look youre looking for. I have the black dial 15300 and it fits my 6.3" wrist nicely. I tried the 15400 and it was obviously too big for me. If you have bigger wrist (considering most of your watches are at least 40mm), you might want to wait for a 15400. They are more readily available and can be obtained for less than a 15300 in the second hand market. But for smaller wrists, 15300 is the way to go.

Oh and it seems like youre trading two watches plus $1300? That sounds pricey esp for an F series.

I have the same size wrist and just tried on a 39mm AP. Not a 15300, but the case should be very similar. It still seemed big for me. Can you share some wrist shots of the watch, please? Thanks.

Thats a pretty good trade. I would probably trade my PAM and GMT for a 15300 as I'm a sucker for AP now. But i also like having a diverse collection.

I used To have tons of watches and didn't use them... I realise that I should stick To few and Nice watches, so I can use them all! Better a 15300 in the wrist than 116710 an a pam090 in the drawer!

The blue dial on the 15400 is nice and vibrant, the 15300 blue is rather dull. I'd go for the black or white on that model.

Depends on your wrist size. If under 7", I'd jump on the 15300.

It looks big due to the bracelet not being able to fully bent on its sides, so there's a gap before it wraps unto the wrist. I dont think it's too big if you're looking for a sporty casual look. Pics attached as requested.

Thanks. It looks about the same on my wrist. I thought 39mm looked a little big, but it probably looks just fine from a slight distance.
