First Post and First Rolex Today

Hello all,

This is my first post and it is a genuine post.

I could not sleep last night because tomorrow my wife is collecting my first Rolex for me.

A SS Daytona, white dial, brand spanking new, and at retail price.

Ages ago I saw someone say starting off on a Daytona was like skipping soft drugs and going straight to crack cocaine. After reading that quote I was decided. If it is only a matter of time that I got to the nth degree, why waste time.

Just “get it on” now.

Well just saying hello and now what I will be a Rolex owner today I feel I have my ticket to be part of this forum.

I have been a reader / lurker for a while.

Best regards from Ireland

PS. If this is the incorrect forum to post this in - whoops - couldn't find an introductions forum per se

Golly folks - such a warm welcome.

Most appreciated.

When I got it last evening I...

1. First ate dinner
2. took care of all work / distractions
3. sat on couch with my "war-office"
3. I got her a new longines as a bribe
4. we both opened our boxes and as the brochure / guarantee were on top of mine i read the brochure cover to cover first
5. savored the moment - while she already had her watch on
6. then i slowly opened the box and say back and laughed - how great to feel like a kid again

sitting here are the breakfast table - thinking how lucky we all are - i hope to associate the watch with good fortune - in all things - not just material.

sorry to be so deep but there you have it

pictures to follow

P.S. from when I contacted the authorized dealer in Ireland for first time until I collected the watch and paid RRP for it the elapsed time was 2 months. Do not always believe the 2 year waiting list on SS Daytona. If you are a genuine purchaser I believe you can get the watch you want at RRP faster then 2 years particularly as the economy is under pressure and confidence is not so high.
