Advice on rotation dilemma

How do you all incorporate your watches in to the weekely rotation. I recently acquired a ceramic gmt and it never leaves my wrist my omega speedmaster has barley seen wrist time this month. How do I make sure each watch gets love. And as for my Macy's Guess quartz chrono, Invicta, and vintage seiko... would you give them away or keep em and wear em. The Invicta was a gift from a business mentor. And the Guess gold dive chrono was my first watch I ever bought 2 years ago. Regretful of that decision Would like to hear how you guys make sure each watch gets used.

Happy Halloween!

All the best,

Glenn

Unless you want to be a collector, just wear what you like. If you don't wear the Speedy, sell it. For me I don't have enough money to have it tied up in something that collects dust. For me, if it isn't nailed down and I don't use it, I sell it.

But to your question...when I did have a rotation, I would wear a watch for a week at a time.

Once going Rolex it's hardly easy going back.
The speedy is easy, just wind it up when you are ready to take it out for a spin, I simply restart from the time it stopped.
The guess to give / donate or sell, don't look back.
The Invicta should be kept and left alone.
Vintage seiko is your back up, a good watch unless it's a very special piece its quite worthless to sell.

I switch weekly. Take a while to get through my collection, though.

I rotate every two weeks. Now I don't even bother to set the correct date just the time.

I tend to rotate fairly regularly, one trick is to only take one watch out of the bank at a time. If one is never getting any wrist time then it's time to go.

I have about 4-5 that are the regular rotation. About every few days I change. The JV squad get a little playing time once a month or so. The freshmen group never get any playing time but I will never sell them or get rid of them, too many stories.

Wear which one grabs you that day.

Some folks like to lay out all the watches and roll through all of them once before doubling back over the collection.....not for me.

No real rhyme or reason for me. I do bias what I'm wearing based on what I'll be doing though. I'm also guilty of having more than one watch with me during the day.

Wear two watches at a time, reflecting different time zones. Thus in a work week there's 10 watches you need. Problem solved.

Thanks for reading ladies and gentlemen, goodnight and Happy Halloween to all :)

I rotate weekly and make sure they all get at least a week every couple months. I would not sell the speedy because you're not gonna get that much for it and I bet you'll come back to it eventually.

I'm a believer of quality over quantity...I would get rid of the watches that that don't have sentimental or trade/resale value.

Don't worry about rotation...it will sort itself out over time (either you will want to wear something that's been stored awhile, or its been sitting for so long you're ready to let it go, or you're content with them sitting in a drawer as is).

For me I don't rotate much I basically wear explorer 2 every day and then in the evenings I may change to sub or DJ if I am going out but explorer 2 gets 90% of wrist time.

Like many above, there is no rhyme or reason to what or how I rotate. It's a day to day decision based on my mood and what I'm wearing. As far as what to do with the Invicta and the Guess....sounds like they have more sentimental value than cash value. So, I would just keep them and occasionally wear them when the mood strikes!...If, they're not costing you anything, what's the harm in keeping them.

Don't overthink the rotation. I change watches every two or three days, unless I don't. If I wait long enough I get to reacquaint myself with a watch again and I enjoy that process. Surprisingly my Speedy gets a lot more wrist time relative to the others. I keep it on rotating NATOs. Once the colder weather sets in and I go back to long sleeves the watches on bracelet will see more action. It's not a plan, it's entirely based on whim. That's what makes it fun.

Yeah, this is my pattern too.

I've also found it's time for one to go when I can't wait to get the next one on.

I wear whatever suits my fancy, no rhyme or reason. Some pieces are better suited for casual weekends, and others for dress. That's about all the thought I put into it.

If you don't wear it after an extended period of time, sell it. I sold my speedmaster because I knew it wouldn't get much wrist time once I acquired the Rolex I really wanted. That said, after flipping many watches over the years, I always wore the newest one non-stop for a couple of months before starting to rotate again.

Give it a couple of months for the honeymoon phase and see if you start wearing the Omega again. If not, then unload it for something else.

For about the last year I've worn my watches for several weeks at a time.

The advantage of this is that I don't have to make as many trips to the bank and when I change watches, even to an oldie, it feels almost like a new watch.

The problem is that I go a very long time between wearing any given watch.

For instance, I'm wearing my North Flag today for the first time since I bought it about a year ago.

For the last month or so, I've been switching out weekly. So, now I've run through all the Rolex watches and I'm on my second Tudor. I will continue to switch out weekly until I've worn every watch I own, including the "El Cheapos."

Funny thing is that I don't know how many watches I own now. I know the safe deposit box is nearly full and my cheap watch drawer has a whole bunch I haven't worn in maybe two years or more. I'm too lazy to get a count and it doesn't matter anyway. None of them are going anywhere.

This will be an interesting run.

Generally, I wear my ND Sub or polar ExII during the day and my Explorer during the evenings. I wear my Reverso at least once during the weekend.
