Got my new SD Today, First One !!!!

Hello All, I got my first Rolex today....A SD "M". I am very happy as I had to travel to NJ from NY but got it for 5600 out the door. The NYC AD's would not come down from the 6225 and stated they feel it was going to go high as time went on and fewer were left around.
I have been looking at the SD for over 30 years and when I heard it was being discontiuned I had to move. I only have it a few hours but I love it !!
It is heavy in your hand, but I don't feel it on my wrist.
I am sure I will have a few more questions, But one would be, whats up with the "extension link" in the green walet ???
Thanks for all the info in making my mind up.
JIM
SD 16600 "M"
DAYTONA coming soon !

Big congrat and glad you finally pulled your trigger. I waited about 15 yr until i make enough $$ to buy my first Rollie.
I'm sure it feels fantastic to finally have it on your wrist.

extra links...

Jim,
First, congrats! the SD is my daily wearer and I love it! The extra links are for when you decide to put on a really thick wet suit, thicker than the normal extention will allow. I don't know about you, but when I get in the ocean, the temperature must be 80 deg F or higher, so no wet suit for me!

Congrats Jim. That's funny, I had to go to NY from NJ to get my Daytona.

Great buy.
You get 2 extension links one with 's' -short ,one with 'l'-long .
They are interchangeable for the type of Diving wet suit you might be wearing ,fro example a 2mm thick one may warrant the short one or a 7mm will need the long one.
I tend to use the short extension around my 5mm gloves.
You can only use one at a time.
I hope this answers your questions.

Jim congrats on a "iconic" watch. Truly built like a tank. Enjoy it for many years to come.
