At What Age Did You First Discover Rolex Watches

I remember back in 1972 when I was 12 I went into a New Jewelry Store back where i grew up in Wilkes Barre Pa. It was a Caryle & Co. which had just opened at the Wyoming Valley Mall. In the store they had a display cases of Rolex Watches. At that time they had by the watch displayed the price on a small brass holder. I remember seeing my first Rolex wich had a price at the time of around $1000.....WOW i thought that much for a Watch....esp when i bought a watch for around $25 . I said some day i will have a Rolex!!! And in 1982 I stared my love for Rolex Watches.

Can't say for sure about Rolex, but I knew I liked watches when I was like 8 or 9 years old. I really "understood" what Rolex meant about 15 years ago I guess. I and everyone else on planet earth had heard Rolex since day one, but it wasn't until the last 10 years that I really knew I wanted one.

well my dad Has has had two since the day i can remember. a vintage datejust and an 18k rolex cellini which is honestly stunning. he then bought a day date but sold it because he did not like it. so since i was a young boy of 7 or 8 i loved watches and always knew what a "rolex " was. I have definitely inhereited his good taste in watches

I was 2 weeks old. They were running ads on the TVs in the nursery of the hospital and had sublimal chants running on the intercom system. After therapy helped me, I remembered that it went something like this, " We make the world's best watches -- as far as you know."

My father had a TT DJ before I was born so ever since I became aware of watches was his that he wore everyday religiously. I just thought it was the strangest watch with a bubble on it, since at that time the fad was everything liquid crystal digital.

He told me it was the first gift/reward he bought himself when he got to the US. As time passed I learned more and more about it especially why he shook it everytime he woke up when picking it up off his nightstand and how it glowed in the dark. I remember being in awe that it had some self winding feature, no batteries!, and asking him about it till he about lost his mind.

Years later when I stayed with him a burglar broke in his place and stole it amongst other things. I was shocked and a bit saddened knowing how long he had it.
I remember all my father said was, "That watch has been with me through a lot of things. Ah well, whomever took it needs it more than I do I hope it helps them."
And that was that he never bought a replacement or wore a Rollie after that.

I first started noticing Rolexes(Fake) when I was 14 on the streets of Chinatown in New York. Since then I've always wanted a real one.

When I was in 8th year. I saw a Rolex ad....Red Air wearing a DayDate on a Time magazine. I thought: one of these days, I will buy a Rolex. I kept the magazine for 7 years until I bought my first Rollie.

I was (am) 30 - just bought my first. Parents and uncles had them growing up so I guess I 'discovered' them much earlier.

only really paid attention to Rolex watches a couple of years ago, and the desire of getting one only kicked in a few months ago...... got my first Rolex 2 months ago.

In the late-1970s when I was in my late teens. They used to have an ad on TV which showed deep sea divers entering a submarine and how the Rolex crown screwed down as tight as the sub's hatch so no water could penetrate the case. I remember thinking wow, a watch that rugged - now there's something special that's worth saving for!

I asked for one for my 9th birthday, to replace the Snoopy watch I thought was " immature". My mother gave basically the same answer.
