TRF Honorary Brit awards

As a follow up to Bitsy's post I feel it is time to extend the honorary awards to members who show a true understanding of the wit and irony behind the Brit sense of humour.

Frans has already been inducted and gets the Dell boy gong for his understanding of Only Fools and Horses and for being a sporting plonker.

Carolina is my next nomination for this entry posted on the jokes section, a beautiful, understated and ironic piece of work (the article as well as Carolina) The Rodders medal is in the post. Carolina if you know how to make a steak and kidney pudding we could upgrade you to a Dame !!

http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=52824

I will ask Bitsy if she is able to help me in judging nominations for the Hall of Fame.

Come on put up your nominations and the reasons why.

Bubba, JJ you gotta start raising your game

Don`t like my football being played uphill for 45 minutes then downhill for the other 45. Will be watching the Teds on Sultana tv in the house while talking to my friends Mr Stella and Mr Artois. The other problem is that Easter Road is in Edinburgh and my passport isn`t up to date.

I'm going with our Canadian Brothers and Sisters first.

Al....champion sailer...Can't get any more British than that!!!!!

Nancy...A charming delight, a true stateswoman yet ready to laugh at herself...Are we sure there is no blue blood running through her veins...A long lost Windsor?

Ashley...beautiful, English Rose complexion, neurotic about her weight and looks, sultry and demure...a true lady....about as English as it gets!!!!!

I would nominate the above for the pie, mash and liquor awards and for the Tarby 9 Holes Pro Am trophy!

I'll get thinking about some of the others!

I nominate Terry Newton for the Coronation Street Medal of Distinction.

Reasoned, educated, trustworthy and sensitive yet with a true fighter's spirit. He has all of the qualities of our former great Prime Ministers!

Not only the above but with a grand old 'tache like that...he could have been flying Spitfires over the channel durring WWII...Pip pip and tally ho old bean!

Terry gets my vote!

I say chaps - haven`t we forgotten something here. The jolly old weather. Spiffing day here but last nights rain was just the thing for the herbacious borders. Still would not venture far without the brolly though.

Jim, I have to fess up. I am a Brit, complete with British passport. Moved from Manchester to the colonies in 1956 and never got around to taking out Canuck citizenship. It's on my "to do" list, someday.

I'll get Freeman to check in the mews block - he also looks after a pair of Bristols.

Anybody who uses the word 'Moggy' who wasn't born on our green isles deserves the honourary Brit award.

An award should be bestowed on you both.

By the power vested in the Brit members, we duly knight thee

"Sir Al"

and

"The Dutchess"

Ok I have conversed with Bitsy this is the list so far

Frans of the Duchy of Hens
Dame Carolina
Nancy, maid in waiting to Bitsy
Al, admiral of the fleet
Princess Ashley
Raffish Terry "Biggles" Newton, chief of air staff

Bitsy has ruled out Bubba but I am still considering him as a footman at the Palace clearing out the stables. His sh** shoveling skills may come into play later

Spot of confusion here. Thought that a Moggy was a car. The vicar`s wife drives a Morris (Moggy) convertable in a very fetching battleship grey.
