Future value of RG RO Chrono Black face on strap

I am contemplating purchasing this watch. I'm concerned about the future value due to it being discontinued. I spoke to someone in the field and they believe that I would only be able to get less then 50% of the retail value in 5 years from now. Others say the watch may increase in value. Does anyone have an opinion on this watches future value?

Very likely, you need 30% off to buy new, or buy used.

No one can know for sure. But a person who wears that watch shouldnt care for depreciation.

They will clearly sell for much less than retail down the road, of course some like the 15300 blue took on not bad value, remember almost buying a mint one 4 years ago, for 8.9k euros, like an idiot I didn't get them, and wound up getting them 8 months ago for much more, ok the one I got is totally unworn from 2009, so I paid a premium, but even the used ones go for more than the last known retail. But on a regular production gold piece like these they won't take value. It's clearly not the kind of watch I would be looking at if future value was important for me.

I agree with the first guy. Look for 30% off and just enjoy it. It's a gorgeous piece of luxury. Think of it as a car.

Not many gold pieces appreciate well. I agree with Fiddich and would like to add that if you can't afford to gamble on appreciation go for a used steel Rolex.

Do you think that I will be able to get 30% off from an AD? And if so, where?
