I have seen two, on a SD it was done very poorly and looked like an Invicta (NTTIAWWT!!) and once on a 16610 and it was done professionally and looked okay. It does take away from the tool look of the watch though. Not my cuppa but if it makes you smile I say do it.

Nah...better not to do it. The polished surfaces attract scratches like a magnet.!!

I had a SD done a few years back,by my jeweller friend he done a great job but it was a scratch magnet. And after about a week,he reverted it back for me,don't think it looks quite right on sports Rolex models.

Don't think so. Just wouldn't look right on a Sub.

Then you polish them out, or you brush it back to original. An open mind is a beautiful thing once in awhile.

Why screw around with ORIGINALITY when you know that you're eventually going to revert back to its ORIGINAL state after your silly experiment? Not my way of thinking, pal!!!

Maybe I am narrow minded when it comes to fiddle-farting around with originality. I hate it...have never done it....but then that's me!!

Sean-

Once Rolex comes out with one, people everywhere (including people on this forum) will be waiting 2 years to pay $2000 over list for it.....

Do what makes you happy, if people hadn't tried stuff that everyone else disagreed with - we'd still think the world was flat.

Here's some pics.

I get it now.
Kinda like a Cadillac Pick-up truck with 22inch karome wheels
Kinda like a Sea Dweller with a diamond dial and bezel.

There is a better chance of me wearing a ladies DJ than the above happening. Heck, that goes for just about any Rolex right now.

Do I detect a bit of a cynical note there, behardt?

I don't know too many people here who would pay much, if anything, over list for any watch, and especially one that, as Mrdi noted, looks like a Cadillac pickup with mag wheels.

I personally don't think the polished center links look good with a SS Sub or SD. But that's just MHO.

We "oldies" usually think alike, don't we, Ed?

No offense meant folks, but I never would have believed that people would pay $6,000 for a sub with a green bezel...

Generally I'm with JJ - keep it original. But I must say the gld sub with polished middle links was a pretty big success. Also the SS YM and daytona with polished middle links have acheived greater success than Billy Ray Cyress did in Kentucky. I personally love the new heavier solid bracelets and clasps.

It's no so far fetched! Just shakin it up a little. Hugs and kisses...

Its your watch so dont worry about what we think but know this, I am a new owner of a 116520 and the center links scratch SUPER EASY!!!!!! Now I know how all the other Daytona and YM owners feel.
