The Moser Bucherer Blue - It wasn't to be.
OK fellow forum folk!
As in my previous thread about the Bucherer Tudor Black Bay Bronze. I visited Bucherer Vienna again on Monday 29th May after being informed by my very friendly contact that the Bucherer Moser Blue had arrived in the shop. Now with Moser only producing around 1000 watches per year it was an opportunity not to be missed. I had to view it! Negotiating very heavy traffic, I finally arrived at the shop at 10.30am. Hey I did leave at 6.30am to get there early. This special edition is based upon the Venturer Small Second and I have to say it was absolutely stunning. It photographs as a very dark blue and I have posted a link below with much better description and photographs. I have to say I was not disappointed with the quality and appearance of this fine watch. It oozed quality, I was ready to add it to the box to join it's brother, The Tudor Black Bay Blue Bronze. However, I do have a rule now that I follow, I will only buy a watch when I have seen, handled it, and most importantly, TRIED IT ON MY WRIST. Unfortunately for some reason I could not get a comfortable fit, and I had to say no I really don't know why, it looked great in my photograph on my wrist. Why didn't it feel right? To say I was disappointed after a long drive and the prospect of return home with a super limited watch is an understatement. I was gutted. BUT if it don't fit I don't buy it. An expensive lesson I learnt some time ago. Apologies for the iPhone photographs, they ain't the best. Better stock photo of the movement The superb write up https://monochrome-watches.com/intro...lue-fume-dial/ Well folks, there we go, the watch that nearly was. I understand as I write, it is still available and please PM me if you would like my contact name in Vienna. I am in no way associated with Bucherer, they are just my "local" AD where I have purchased most of my watches I have today. Thanks for reading. |

Good looking watch and fit.
What is msrp? How were you having a hard time with fit when the watch is on a strap?

Had that many times. Most recently with the new Nomos automatics. Thought I was going there to pick one up and that it was just a matter of the formalities. And then I tried it on. I just couldn't get it to feel right. And it was noisy, like 7750 noisy.

I was the opposite a couple of years ago for a recently launched, white dial hand wound Nomos Metro datum. I really didn't want to like it, thought I had better try it as the AD kindly reserved one for me. Tried it on the wrist, and wow!....changed the strap to a blue horween and "it was in the box" That's why as I said, for me, gotta try em these days .......and I can read the dial It was unfortunate coz that Bucherer Moser is one fine watch |

Exactly right on the Metro. I have bought and subsequently sold/traded too many that I just didn't wear for one reason or another. I only buy them if I love them and don't make any haste decisions any more. Too expensive of a mistake. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks for sharing. Your experience is so true for many of us I'm sure. However I'd bet in many cases people actually walk out with the watch knowing that it wasn't exactly for them, especially if it's something one has seen and dreamed about for months on end.
I know I've had a few of those where I'd have been better off leaving it at the AD. Every 47mm PAM I ever bought springs to mind!!! 47mm is just not for my wrist, 37mm is far more appropriate. |

Many thanks for the comments folks, yeah still a little disappointed.
We are all different, wear em in slightly different places, the wrong wrist/arm. However it is your watch at the end of the day and if it don't feel comfortable, it ain't right for you. Quote:
Huh, you learn something new everyday Now why didn't I think of that after wearing em mostly in the same place for 45 years? Didn't cross my mind to try it lower down...ok I lie, I did and didn't like it there either. Mmm, I suppose my other "problem" is I am right handed and wear it on my right too....better get that awkward bone in my wrist sorted too Shucks, I gotta fall into line, then perhaps they will feel better for me |

dato
My grail was the 1st generation datograph. I had it for 3 weeks and just didnt like the way it felt. I waited for years for that watch. Part of the game. Also took a bath to move it.

As painful as it is, imo you most definitely made the right decision.
I believe that most of us at sometime have bought a watch and then regretted it due to the very same reason. At least you can still continue the hunt, for something else. :)

No, I mean the Endeavour perpetual funky blue. It's the perpetual calendar, lighter blue dial, and brown kudu strap
