Yachtmaster on a NATO

Not sure I like it 100%. Any suggestions for the yacht-master on straps. Doesn’t matter what kind of strap, I would like to see what everyone has

No...put it back immediately...there is a reason Rolex don't make these cheap,straps...seriously I think they look hideous.

You need Grey or possibly black. Grey suede might work?

I'm not a fan of NATOs in general, in my view they cheapen the watch too much. If it's a rugged looking toolwatch, that's ok. On a luxury piece with platinum bits though, I just don't see it.

I asked myself this question 6 months ago. How can I replace the oyster bracelet with something that dresses down the YM without going overboard (pun intended) and yet remaining faithful to the regatta spirit of this watch. Cause you have to remember this is a racing watch at heart, not a cozy yacht-club piece to be worn on the occasional laid-back journey in a motorized luxury boat.

I personally like leather, so that's where I started. It had to be red to make the seconds hand pop. Also, it had to be a racing strap, water resistant and extremely comfortable to wear in summer. Found one with perforated and durable leather, scratch resistant, water resistant and with premium caoutchouc inner ventilated lining. So there it is, a technical strap for a high-tech sport (Hirsch Tiger).

Black Rubber B is the only strap that would look decent, other than the bracelet, IMO.

Nope.

Although I'm do have to say Jocke posted the same watch a couple days ago with the date wheel in red. Changes the watch completely. It will be my text Rolex.

Your right that NATO strap does not look good on that watch. A different colour will lift it.

I do like the Hirsch strap though, looks good in that colour.

A rubber strap definitely goes with the yachtmaster though.

I actually think it looks pretty good on the twin stripe NATO.

I've seen other members do exactly the same with theirs, just don't entertain a white strap of any kind. IMO they look awful.

My Yachtmaster is in storage and could really do with seeing some of the summer, so I might be doing a similar thing with mine soon.

A solid color nato would look a lot better on it.

Changed it up here we go, it’s a silicone rubber with red stitching

What about when James Bond wore his Sub on a NATO and contributed to making Rolex so popular

I like it, I think it looks really good. A navy blue leather strap with red stitching would also work I think. Very nice.

I've just been made aware that my strap is showing signs of wear due to the rubbing against the bezel. Maybe I should get a curved end strap next time or perhaps a flat strap. I don't particularly fancy end links with straps.

I'm realising a dark strap makes the plat dial and bezel pop more.

I like the red stitching. The perforated one on the GMT would look good on the YM as well due to the silver stitching.
IMO, the GMT straps needs a rich, gold-colored threading to pull off the look.

Leather, notched end (same width as outside of lugs), tapered to 18mm, padded, rich black, light silver stitching, oem clasp, polished end links to cover gap.

You'll never wear the bracelet on it again.

I'm a NATO fan I think the right color can look good on almost any piece that black and grey doesn't work with your YM.

Don, if you have this I like to see a picture. Usually not a fan of non OEM but this sounds really good
