I looked at pictures more closely and pushers look buggered up a little

Was about to buy a Tudor chronograph from an ad (not on forums here), but I wanted the dealer to tell me the condition, as no condition was listed in the ad. Dealer sent back a message saying the watch was "polished and without scratches."

I was anxious to buy the watch, but have held off to think.

I sent another message with the same question - what is the condition?

I have no answer yet, but I looked at pictures more closely and enlarged them to notice the pushers on the chronograph look buggered up a little - but hard to see exactly how much.

In my first message I also asked if the SS bracelet had any stretch and got no answer on this. I am now thinking about not buying the watch, which I really want - but not if it is misrepresented.

Shouldn't a seller state condition?

Pictures were received? If you're unable to assess "condition" from the pics... suggest it would be safest to meetup in person and see it with your own eyes before any deal making.

Anything less I doubt you'll be able to sleep well that night. :)

Pictures in ad. Watch in Europe. I am in Texas. 2-3 weeks delivery time, 14 day return privilege. Dealer never answered questions about bracelet stretch and condition. Could the buggered up look of the pushers and crown be due to lighting in this crowded area? Maybe I can get the dealer to send close up images?

If you have any doubts pass. Buy the seller, if he's not forthcoming with basic info, that would be a sign to me that he is trying to hide something. There are other watches out there, or for confidence, buy from trusted sellers on here, remember - Caveat emptor, it's your hard earned money!

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I've always assumed that the return period begins with the date of receipt of the item, not with date of purchase.

Regarding condition, I think some sellers prefer to let the photos speak for themselves avoiding ambiguity from using terms like "mint" or "excellent" etc. that leave too much open for interpretation. On the other hand, photos can be manipulated or staged to hide otherwise obvious blemishes. We've seen a recent thread with this...

First rule is ALWAYS buy the seller. If he's reputable, he'll make it right.

If the seller won't reply to you now (when he hasn't even got your money yet), what do you think he'll be like post sale?

Move on. Find a seller more willing to communicate with you.

Sorry but it doesn't take 2-3 weeks to get anything to Europe or from Europe to the states. I've snail mailed (USPS) stuff to both the U.K. And Germany and it got there within 4-5 day. Heck you can FedEx stuff from here to Dubai and have watches on people's writs within 72-96 hours including customs time if you want to pay for it. That says to me they are buying time to either exceed the PayPal return date or they don't have it themselves and are a middle agent marking up the item from another party and need time to get it themselves. Post a wanted ad on here and buy the seller. I've done 44 international deals that way in the last 8 months and never had an issue other than someone forgetting to pay the import duty tax and having the package held.

Makes sense. I'll keep looking - not wanting to stress. This is a hobby of fun.
