Hi all. This is my unsolicited public service announcement relating to the responses that you get when posting "wtb" requests.
I posted one yesterday and fully 2/3's of the responses are clearly scams. Stolen pictures and hacked TRF accounts.
To state the obvious, confirm those references!

I remember a moderator saying this. Apparently a lot of scammers stalk the WTB section

I know scammers can also post a FS ad, but 1) that requires a pledge membership and 2) the stolen photos would get hundreds of views and probably be caught & reported

For the record, I do not hesitate to respond to these wtb's. Happy to see if I can make a new TRF friend and hook a brotha up! Met some pretty cool people here.

Just experienced this myself. They replied to my WTB ad with photos stolen from a 5 year old listing. Glad I did some investigating first.

I noticed that member is now banned.
