After a four year wait - it's here - Daytona C

After a near four year wait I picked my 116500LN Daytona with white dial from my local AD on Saturday.

Obviously when I went on the ubiquitous list it was for the "old" version but when I saw these in the AD's window last year, I was even more determined to get one.

Originally started out with an Explorer I, then a very brief foray into the (unsatisfactory) world of Breitling (Shadow Flyback) before a DateJust which I've had for 14 years and then this, which I've currently had for less than a week.

It get's envious looks in the office and I'm mightily pleased with it, though I do miss not having the date...

When you're as old as me, one year pretty much merges into another...

Congrats Duncan,

Well worth the wait, was it a larger AD you collected from like Goldsmiths?

Nice watch, but you said you "do miss not having the date". Not to worry, with the Daytona you still do not have the date.

Not Goldsmiths, Prestons. I have it on good authority that when the "new" Daytona came out, Goldsmiths wiped their Daytona waiting list and started afresh. I believe there were/are a lot of disgruntled customers...

Hi Guys

How long has the Ceramic Bezel Daytona been out? more than 4 years ago?

So I am curious. If someone put down deposit on a Daytona and 2 years later, the model discontinued, Does he/she get a a "sorry for the wait and here is your money back". or he/she gets the next generation model?

Prestons is a fantastic AD for the north and the Leeds store is always a pleasure to visit.

Well obviously in my case I just got the latest model as I moved up the list in an orderly fashion. But, if it's true about how the other shop handled it, and I've no reason to disbelieve who told me, it wasn't a very nice thing to do.

Good for you. I thought the dealers "should" (They don't have to, but if they want to have good relations with customers) offer some kind of discount towards other watch or offer them to be on the list for the new model in the same order.

Congrats

Did you have to reapply to the “new” Daytona list? Or did your AD move you over.
