seamaster
one thast i picked up from ebay recently...a 501 gold capped seamaster dating from 1955 / 1956.. amongst the first seamasters with 5XX calbre produced.. thought to be amongst omegas best automatic mechanisms..these watches are excellent frugal additions.. mine cost me around the $300 mark.. ss ones can be picked up for less.. sio you can build a nice vintage omega collection for not much $$

$300 for that classic beauty? I love Omegas and that one for that price is an excellent deal indeed... I'll go check TZ right now. Thanx for the tip Mamas.
Any other good Omega deals you can suggest?

there are a lot of deals for vintage omegas out there.. one useful tip is to register on omegas website with their vintage service..and cross refence any calibre with caseback no. and calibre no. to kae sure piece yoi are buying isnt a put together job. at the moment the 1950's semasters are very much undervalued and have seen near mint ss models go for less than $200 occasionally.
This early 1950's semaster is amongst the very first watches omega made with a date complication.. it does command a premium.. i picked it up for $500 as it was gold.. a friend picked up a slightlty later one in ss for close to $300. |

Hey Mamas,
You certainly are building up a neat little Seamaster collection there, my friend. Some day the whole lot could be worth quite a bit....you never know!!

Very nice Dennis anyone starting a vintage collection, you cannot go wrong with Omega, fantastic watches, for in reality very little money.
