laser weld restoration

Hey fellow Rolexers,

I recently purchased a pre-owned GMT II no holes.
For the priced I paid pretty happy since save alot compare to what other sellers asking for but the down side was watch came with scratches, mild, able to use a nail polishing stick with different grade and was able to buff to new.
The only thing is there is two tiny pin hole size marks I know if I polish will change the dimension of bezel slightly.
So to be on the safe side most likely will have to seek out a watch restoration place to restore that area with laser welder and than buff it.
Any suggestions ?

thx

Polishing it yourself was the first mistake you made.

i would echo the sentiment but probably put it across a different way.

when it comes to polishing a rolex you really want someone who is skilled to be doing it as there can be a "too polished" situation where the lugs get thinner and whatever other problems that can occur.

i'd find a reputable watch repair person close to you and build a relationship.

I think that this gent knows exactly what he is doing. He is talking about polishing with a nail polisher, this shall remove less metal than breathing on it!
The fact that he states that he shall tackle pin pricks due to changing the shape was a clue!

I see you are in Seattle. Try Theodore at ARC Watchworks in Bellevue. He is a very competent CW21 and a great guy. He has done work on Rolexes for me. I am not sure he does this kind of work but he is a solid resource in the area.

Dear Golf and Watches,

Thx for pointing it out .

yes I was only using the buffer grade of the nail file and the bracelets look good as new.
