Patek 5711P 40th Anniversary - after the hysteria we are left with the beauty.

Posting again due to previous thread being locked:

Recent birthday trip to Rome reinforced what a wonderful piece this is. Dress up for the evening or blend into the background when simply walking round the streets with other tourists.

Or perhaps to attend the ballet at the Royal Opera House.

A walk at the beach.

Or just a quick coffee.

With a little lume.

What a superb and versatile piece.

Very nice. The dial engraving looks very subtle.

That's very nice.

Those diamonds are so subtle that I think they look nice to my eye. And I normally wouldn't consider a watch with diamonds for myself. Kind of like the platinum Daytona with the diamond dial. Also subtle and very nice, IMO.

I too noticed some very, very benign threads have been closed for some reason. <smirk>

looks great. In real life pics i like it a lot and its much more subtle than the official pictures would suggest.

Thanks for sharing Russell. Even though I'm not a diamonds guy by any stretch of the imagination (the only other watches with diamonds I like are the 5170P and 116506A). I really like how they're done here as they're super discreet and add a classy touch to a very special piece. The dial inscription is also a lot better in real life than the original photos published.

I am also glad to see a piece like this being worn and thoroughly enjoyed by its owner, instead of spending its life sealed in a bag and stashed away in a safe, never to be enjoyed and used as an instrument for speculation.

It's a really stunning watch, I was looking at the SS one and this dial is on another level and the diamonds and text look subtle most of the time.
