If you do not need or use the "date function" then the ND is the one!

Go with the date. Yep I know can easily look at your phone etc. Weird always had a date watch then I did not when I had a Panerai and was very surprised I missed the date. Now I having a Sub C date I do catch myself looking at the date.

You’ll use the date function more than you think.

As you get older the date function becomes superfluous, as I can't read the date on my datejust anymore without fumbling about looking for my readers, and by the time I've found them, I've worked out what date it is anyway. The joys of getting old!

116610ln is the perfect watch. In a few months I went from 114060 to 214270 and finally ended up with 116610. I can say this is the first time I am happy. I also believe the modern iterations are superior to the 16610 in nearly every way other then the 16610 wears lighter. However, the 116610 has the glide lock with is amazing.

Easy decision to me. If you have multiple watches, 114060 is nice. As a daily, go 116610. Of course, just one opinion.

No date looks so clean, its what a tool watch was meant to begin my opinion. Spartan, and does exactly what it was intended to do: tell the time....

After having my Sub Date for 6 months, can’t go without the function. ND looks awesome and symmetrical but the Date is very functional.

The NDs look better due to the cleaner dial, but the Dates are more practical. I rely on it daily. The only watch I would make the exception on is the Daytona. If you already have a Rolex with date then the 114060 is fine.

14060. Not a fan of the maxi case.

Perfect Submariner 114060 vs 116610

I had the 116610LN for about five years and recently picked up the 114060. I prefer the 114060. It just looks better with the clean and symmetrical dial.

If you can't remember the date, pick up your cell phone and there it is. And I much prefer the six digit models over the previous versions.

I would choose the 114060 but I'm an old retired guy and seldom need to know the date.
