I hope they go black and green or orange. Has anyone considered those possibilities? Why the fixation with ceramic trying (and failing?) to do pre-ceramic colour schemes?

If the red pigment is a true red, I am in. The red on the WG BLRO is not true red...it has a purple hue to it.

Only if WG. Too many other interesting watches (mostly on the Patek side).

I'll bet red on black would work out much better.

First Coke came in SS. If this happens, I hope it's a SS model. Well, I can only pray.

I’d be all over it in SS. And I wouldn’t sell my BLNR if it happens either. There’s a place for both to live in harmony

I think its a direct replacement to the BLRO, so I would bet on WG.

If its SS, I don't see this and the BLNR being offered together, so I guess the batman would be gone.

Those who think an SS Coke will be coming this year need to consider whether Rolex would put out any new GMT variants in the current case design, when a redesign would not be premature. (It's a 13-year-old design, after all.) If a redesign, why SS first, especially when - so far - only the current WG model has been discontinued.

To me, it makes more sense we'll see a new GMT design this year, beginning in WG, with more metal grades to debut in succeeding years. The bezel is anyone's guess, although it will probably be visually non-standard, since Rolex likes to distinguish its white gold models from SS. Coke? Blueberry? Other?

I propose the metal type will depend on difficulty of manufacture.

I think you nailed it and definitely agree that the past history of updating with new movements always start with the full PM versions,,,,,the next year TT....the final year SS.

I also think that a solid PM version of the YM is long over due.

I stated this on another post but I wonder why Rolex has experimented with sapphire bezel covers like blancpain?

Then any bi-color duo would be easy to produce in aluminum and then protected by the bezel cover?

True reds....classics blues....greens everything.

I think it would look awesome, but you may have answered your own question: Blancpain has already done it. IWC, too, for that matter. Rolex was an early adopter of ceramic for its bezel inserts, and hasn't looked back. At this point, it may be a brand identity thing.

If your picture is in the public domain then you have released rights to that image.

True, but public domain is a legal classification. Merely making an image publicly viewable does not put it in the public domain. The owner would have to knowingly and expressly relinquish ownership rights. Fair Use provides some cover, but it's tricky.
