Icon20 SS Daytona Vs. PM Daytona

What do owners of these Daytona watches feel/experience while owning and wearing these watches? Does anyone have both?

I am on waitlist for SS Daytona C but wondering if I should just buy a preowned PM Daytona???

Love your wg daytona (your 116500 isn’t bad either)

PM all the way! Besides, stainless cases are by symmetric.

Had both types, PM is way nicer. But sold both when I realised I didn't particularly care for either. You have to own a Daytona sometime; but you don't have to keep them.

i know you have both, but that WG daytona is amazing and IMO is THE Daytona to have. The only current one i would consider. Maybe hypothetically, that same one with a ceramic bezel on a WG bracelet.

I have had both. 116509 and 500
I sold 509 to get the 500

Both a beautiful. But obviously everyone taste is different. Personally I think the "heft" of 116509 is very nice, but you become used to it very fast so it is normal

Really I think the pm watch is a very special feeling because you know about gold
But the 500 is even more special because you know it is impossible to find.

Plus pm you will loose money - I lost £3500 plus polish to shine scratched bezel £600 at rsc
500 you will make money, probably the same £4000 I lost on 509

Pm will scratch very easily, especially on bezel, I worried every day. And very difficult to polish to sell, even rolex said "best possible job" and stipulated "not like new". Obviously not an issue with 500 bezel.

Pm was amazing ownership experience. But not one I'd want to repeat

500. Yes. I would buy another tomorrow if I could

SS Daytona Vs. PM Daytona

PM all day every day. I sold my SS Ceramic for WG.

Look at the weight difference.

I've had the 116523 Panda. I had the 116500 White Dial, and now I have the 116519 Silver Dial. I like the larger case and the ceramic bezel. Only thing missing is the weight (Oysterflex).

If you can afford it, go PM. You won't regret it.

I've had multiple steel 116520 over the years and gave the Platona a go while waiting for my 116500 to come in...which was much faster than expected

Once I had the black 116500 the Platona sat, and was moved on.

I still get flack for that, but reality is I just enjoyed the 116500 more...I like to wear my stuff and not baby it. The platinum showed the wear more easily, and I couldn't justify the premium it commands $$$ wise.

That said, I loved the ice blue dial...and as much as my wife will never say she likes a watch >$100, the Platona was the only one she did show admiration for...until she found out it was platinum.

I have both, but prefer the weight of the ss Daytona.

The PM has the better dial and wears heavier. Sometimes the added weight is nice, but for comfort ss is the better choice.

Also, PM is larger case and wears a bit bigger because it is a larger watch.

Not too big however and both wear well, but different.....I love both...that is why I have both.

Again, prefer my PM dial, but all are must haves if you can swing it.

They each have unique qualities.. Owning both, I love the feel of WG, the weight, color and the fact that most ppl have no clue I'm wearing a 37k watch.. SS is lighter, I worry less about scratches and dents and love the fact that is kind of a rare piece due to the fact that is it hard to source.. But, if I had to choose only one, SS gets my vote.

I have had multiple variations of both and have settled on these two. My two favorite watches but honestly I prefer the weight looks and feel of PM and especially Platinum

once I got the Platinum Daytona it has become my all time favorite watch. I have given my Ceramic SS Daytona to my son so I could see it daily and still appreciate it

but for me made no sense to have a Platinum or for that matter WG or YG version of a watch and be walking around with the SS one on

every time I did that I thought about why am I not wearing the Platinum Daytona

personal preference and above is mine from quite an extensive go round with these watches in WG YG RG and Platinum had them all

I have a zenith, ceramic and platinum.

The platinum is one of if not my favorite watch but the ss ones are amazing too...just different...ss is great for everyday wear...platinum is heavier and let's you know it's there...can't lose with either.

I have 16520 (SS) and 16528 (YG).

I prefer the Stainless Steel, I also believe that currently it is worth more than the 18k YG Daytona.
