AP Royal Oak Offshore Opinions?

OK, you AP ROO owners, how has your experiences been with this watch? How have the movements been? Reliable, Rugged? I know that they just switched from the combination Piguet/JLC movement to a In-House? Thanks.

I don't have one (yet), but it's my favorite watch currently and I will be getting one in the near future. The Safari is one of the most beautiful watches I've ever seen.

I have a 2006 ROO. last of the index models (no numbers). Much more detail on the dial & subdials. The price of the new ROO's is the same as 2006, which shows there isn't as much detailing going into the watches. Mine is a Silver dial which when closely examined has a similar effect like a platinum Yacht Master dial, which drew me to it.

I have worn it almost constantly since getting it, including running & cycling & have had no problems with it. The movement has various shock absobers.

Also has a soft iron core for any magnetic fields & I am told has alot of 18K gold inside.

It loses about two seconds every week, which is fully acceptable. My Yacht master gains about two seconds every week.

Quite a heavy watch when holding in the hand, but surprisingly light on the wrist. Quite a thick watch & just fits under a short cuff.

I would highly recommend one for the pleasure it brings & because it has already increased in value, which is a novelty for me. I've always lost money on watches.

Sorry for the poor pics. Will post clearer ones later.

Big Tony !!!

You have two veeeeerrrrrry nice timepieces !!! I don't think you would wear anything else - having those two at your disposal. I love that AP, it has massive size.

Thanks Mike.

The only thing I wish the AP had was a triplock crown. Rolex really have the best there.

You may want to double-check, but my understanding is that the new movement is only in the Safari and the Navy Themes.

Beautiful watches!
