Is this the new PP forum trend? The new generation of 'not incoming' threads?

Good luck with your search.

Yes! They told me by the end of the year. I don’t want to wait that long.

get on a list and then wait. You might be surprised at how quick one may come. I really think scarcity in general across many watch brands drives interest so an AD is likely to say they dont have it and then all of a sudden one appears after waiting a certain amount of time... obviously that won't matter with a 5711 but for a 26 it just may happen.

why? just wait for the amazing 5711 steel! Doesn't matter how much time you have to wait anyway. Some say it can cure cancer, AIDS and sterility even!

Whenever you are going past a PP AD pop in and have a chat and see what they have, ive come across both the 5726 on strap and bracelet in the past 12 months but I don’t really like the dial so not for me.

You make this sound like the 5726a on a strap is the bottom-of-the-barrel of the Nautilus line. Au contraire, mon ami....this watch on a brown strap is actually my favorite model of all the Nautilus line (except for the new 5740). I hope you didn't insult any of the Patek fans out there who already own the 5726 on a strap. Pretty insensitive.

you think my intent was to insult owners of this watch? It was readily available, now it’s not! Have a great day! AND, I’m sorry if i offended you!

No nautilus for me! Lol.

Like Tyler said above — get on the list and wait — you might get lucky - especially with that particular reference.

I TOTALLY understand the immediate gratification thing and not wanting to wait — but in this hobby, especially right now patience is paramount. Or — you can go pay the premium with a Trusted Seller — which I have no issue with either.

I’ve gone both of those routes over the years — now I just wait everything out...even with AD relationships. Usually what I find out is that something else comes along that I like even better. Lol

Personally - to really be honest - watches I hunted and desired the longest disappointed me the most.

Enjoy the ‘hunt’ it’s the best part.

Just my .02

Good luck!

Be happy you’re after production models you can just buy. I have met some collectors who are only looking for specific pieces that rarely come up for auction, travel to auction, secure funds to bid only to see their internal limit get crossed almost immediately.

Surely you jest? He barely said anything at all. I’ve heard people talk worse to my wife and been fine with it lol

he likes it Its not the hardest one to get by a long shot so its more a reflection on the state of affairs and not an insult to the watch.

Well if 8-9 months is too long, then you're a good candidate to pay a premium for almost any desirable AP, PP or Rolex reference. Time is money after all.

I've been on the search for the last 8 months for a 5712/1A and I'm hoping to get it by year-end. If I have to wait another year, that's still acceptable to me. If it never comes, I'll move on.

This is a good point and I agree. The longer I wait the more things build and my expectations grow. Then it comes and I’m like ok, now what

i dont have any personal experience with this, but even in London from what i have heard with certain SS Rolex stock which would be a 5726 equivalent in demand vs supply (sub or a GMT) the AD's all say they dont have one. Then when you are serious and pay a deposit or put yourself on the list, you get a call in a few weeks or a few months at most.

My guess is they had the watch all along but creating scarcity helps with the next sale and the next because its a hard to get watch and it creates buzz. I really think the 5726 could be similar although AD's get less so timing is a factor too.

When there is a line outside the club to get in then everyone wants to go. There is a breakfast restaurant by my house that does the same thing. They dont utilize all of the seating until there is a sufficient line outside the restaurant and they create a wait for no reason other than appearances. Then everyone sees people waiting to get in and think they should eat there too.

I was thinking about this common AD practice of hide the populars and then when a customer proves himself worthy or buys a few watches, he then gets offered one. If the customer is not on a list for one then he doesn't really want it but he'll buy it ofc and then will flip it. I think this is where a lot of the flipped watches are now coming from. So this AD practice has to stop, just give people watches that they really want and who have demonstrated that desire for months/years. No more rewards.

Showing up at an AD with a check can be ‘magical’ as well....even if you don’t know anyone....I’ve seen it. Lol

We’ve had some SERIOUS ‘luck’ stumbling upon hard to find items — especially while in some vacation spots....

Good choice on the 5726 with strap. Really comfortable on the wrist and just beautiful in design with the annual calendar.
