Keeping my white dial 5711 after all

Hi all

I recently posted a thread titled “selling my 5711” and was accused of generating a sales pitch for the watch when in reality I just wasn’t overjoyed initially with the bracelet and clasp and was looking for advice.

It’s the first time I bought a watch without being 100% convinced in the store. It’s not like they had a demo watch for me to see and try on before putting me on the list.

Thanks to everyone who advised me to allow time to warm to the watch. I’ve decided to keep the watch because I now see the reasoning behind the elegant bracelet and clasp especially with formal attire.

The watch definitely won’t be a daily wear but will come out for special occasions and formal events.

I think I have all bases covered now although I still have my eye on a Calatrava 5120 in white gold.

i think that is a good choice. Love the dial and IMO white dials are hard to make look as nice as blue or black dials. This one looks awesome so for a white dial watch there is no better option. Love mine.

Good move. Give it some time and see if you warm up to it. If not, flip it and move on.

The 5711 went from "this is a really nice watch, I prefer my aquanaut 5176" to "omg, this is an amazing versatile watch" to finally "aquanaut can go".

That was just my experience, it took about a year to go through the whole cycle.

I think a picture of said watch on your wrist would be quite fitting here

that explains it

The 5522 is the root of all things bad around here. Its wonderful and terrible at the same time.
