1675 Help
I recently purchased a circa '71 1675 from a very reputable collector. The watch was listed as "serial number partially faded." The watch also has a service dial, hands and so I got a decent deal on a great watch with little to no vintage value - as I wanted. When I sent the watch to Rolex Dallas for a full service as a new baseline, they replied they could not touch the watch as they deemed the serial number to be physically removed, not worn, faded, other. They did verbally say the watch appeared to be all Rolex but that is their policy in regards to watches without visible serial numbers.
If I would like to have a full service done on this watch - movement, new crystal, crown, tube, pressure test, COSC adjustment, etc with all genuine rolex parts - who can do this sort of service with access to Rolex parts and that is not affiliated with Rolex? I live in New Orleans but happy to ship the watch somewhere. Thank you! |
