New Seamaster 300M Wave Dial
So, hearing from my AD that this is right now the Omega Pepsi/Daytona C/BLNR as far as hard to find?
I am in love with the SS with Silver Dial.

Maybe a bit cynical, but I wouldn’t be surprised if your AD happens to get one in soon and offers it for only MSRP

Love it. I’m interested to see how those new rubber straps compare to the last 2 generations which I felt were very comfortable.

I love this watch dearly - but you cannot compare the distribution and "difficulty" in obtaining one compared to the Rolex models... Omega has worked to increase distribution, and increase points of sale...
even when things were limited by nature (first DSOM) rather than marketing and strategy, Omega found ways to flood the market shortly after demand made for premiums... I love the watch... but please don't fall for any sales tactics that would have you believe that it will be hard to get... this will be on Jomashop at 30 pts off before you know it.

A few weeks ago, I walked in an AD in the Chicago area; and they had this exact watch (Black one with the rubber strap) available for purchase that same day. So, I don't think this watch is hard to get at all.
(I just wished that Omega equipped this watch's strap with a deployant clasp, not a pin buckle. The AD also had the new Planet Ocean, which had a much better strap with a clasp.) |

I saw a bunch of versions at the OB on Bond Street in London. The watch isn't hard to get if you go to an OB.

Hard to get?, not at all.
No regular production Omega is hard to get. Recently a trusted seller had one for sale here for less than $1K off retail, so don't think they will be hard to get at all , wonderful watch by the way. This is the one that sold recently , same color combination: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=639244 Trsuted seller, BNIB in same color. |

don't think anyone is saying this will be hard to source shortly but it was only released a few weeks ago so there are understandable delays in general availability - saying I saw some on Bond Street is not the same as saying they are in every dealers window now - they undoubtedly will be but maybe not for a couple of months
but isn't that better for us WIS types if we can actually go into a shop and pay retail or less for a watch we actually want? when these are about at £3k or less I am not sure £9k on a new sub c on the grey market makes any sense apart from the "but its not a Rolex" argument anyone agree the sub c is overpriced at £6.5k even if you could buy one of course?

I wouldn't be surprised if Omega starts the same game as Rolex, at least with one or two models. They see it works..

I have tried on the 300 (and hence I am buying one) and I owned a sub c for 6 years - even if you ignore the price difference I am not sure the sub c is better - but it is a Rolex so it must be better mustn't it?

I agree with you about even if you ignore the price but didn’t want to be so blunt. But for some people it’ll always be, ‘But it’s not a Rolex...’

I went to the New York boutique yesterday. They have both the black and blue dial but not the grey. The black is a beaut. However, the bezel click still feels really cheap. Seiko Samurai PADI bezel click mechanism actually feels much more precise and integrated yet a $250 watch.

The oyster bracelet is one hundred times better than the SM bracelet The bezel is a hundred times better Don’t get me wrong i am a fan of the SM and will probably get one but comparing it to the sub is just crazy U need to see these both together in person in hand to realise how much more refined the sub is The hands /the hour markers / the ceramic coding on the dial along with the pointless HV are just but a few things that let down the SM, but its ok given its price point. Just my opinion |

The more I look at it the more I am awed.
Two tone never looked this good.
