Least popular SS Rolex currently

As everyone knows there seems to be a short supply of SS Rolexs at ADs. But if one had to guess, which is the least popular SS model at the moment? Maybe the Rolex OP?

I've seen a SS Yachtmaster and Explorer 2 in the shelves a few times recently. Obviously just anecdotal evidence. Both are incredible watches but don't seem to be on the "do not sell" list.

and yeah, OPs and DJs are usually pretty easy to get. But as far as the hard to get/easy to get convo goes, we're mostly looking at the sports watches.

SS in general, or SS sport models? Big difference.

I was offered an Air King at an AD Brand new for $5500. Just thought I’d share that... I’m not down with the thickness of that watch, and let’s not talk about the dial.

Just buy it in the second hand market. Cheaper. Get it the same day. Supply is OK. Prices are (mostly) OK.

Just speaking from my personal experience, if you settle for what they have in stock you will end up trying to sell it or it will sit there collecting dust. I would rather pay a premium for one that I really want rather than just buying what is in stock. Not sure if that's the reason you're asking.

I had to HUNT for my AK when I bought it. I wonder if it's regional. I saw a plethora of Explorer II's, Milgauss's, and Sea Dwellers, only 1 SS Sub, a couple YM's, but no AK's, Explorer I's, YM II's

The model I see the least is the Air King.

Yep, I agree. AK and Explorer I are the models I see the least. Interesting the ADs mentioned that the AK and Exp1 are models that aren't in high demand, yet I never saw any on display. Wonder what that means for the future?

How long have you had your AK? How often. Do you wear and what’s your opinion of the watch?

I haven't seen anything sitting lately but I'd guess Milgauss over Air King just because of the price.

I see Milguass and Yachtmasters every time. I usually also see Explorer II and sometimes Air King.

Yacht-Master, Air King, Explorer 1, maybe a Milgauss and an Oyster Perpetual — my AD usually has the first three pretty readily available.

You mean with painted brass dial in rhodium colour. That's also the one I see the most.

Solid platinum dial looks like this:

Funny you mention it, I was just thinking about how long it has been since I have seen an Airking in an AD case. Probably 5 months ago. I have seen far more YM and Explorers.

I see and Explorer 1 50% of time I hit an AD (give it take). Strange because it is a coveted Rolex, but still relatively available from my experience.

I just went shopping around to a few ADs here - AIRKING and MILGAUSS available only.

No discount though.... and stickers need to be removed

From what I’ve seen here, what you see for sale is what you can’t get at an AD. rarely will you see an OP for sale here

Last few times I've been to my AD they've had an Explorer II in the display.
