Popped by the AD

"My guy" wasn't there, but I got to introduce myself to a very pleasant and helpful saleswoman.

Was wearing my BLNR, which opened conversation. Tried on a black face Daytona TT. Mentioned I was waiting for a SS Daytona, and that I'd bought a Sub, BLNR and Hulk from them.

On my way out, she gave me the hardbound 2018-19 catalog.

I know these are just material goods, but it still feels nice being "in the club".

I think you're missing the good natured ribbing intended...So good of relationship that being in the club gets you a book instead of the Daytona C. Many of us are in that club

Yup, I am in Atlanta/Augusta this week for the Masters and stopped by Brown & Co in Buckhead and got nothing but the book. But that is better than nothing. It is a really cool book and has a lot that the configurator does not, particularly in the watch with OF or leather band choices.

LOL. I can't believe this is actually a thing. A good relationship with an AD so he can spend thousands of dollars. What a time to be alive.

Um...yeah.

This is the spot where I got my Sub, Batman and Hulk.

Stopped by to say hello, try on a watch, and was given a free book.

Guess I missed the humor in it. Oh well.

Congrats on the book, Desmo. Four months ago I for the first time in perhaps ten years walked into the Ben Bridge in Riverside, California. The clerk was pleasant, brought out from somewhere a Daytona and offered to allow me to try on that piece along with a green Roman numeral DJ. I was also offered and left with one of "the books". It for me made a good day even better.

Thanks, Dude.

Geez, these geezers are brutal. I, for one, like the excitement that comes with anticipation. And swag is fun, too.

I'm a car enthusiast, as well, and to me this feels like when you order a car, or search for a rare example...a pop in to kick tires while you wait is enjoyable.

That's what makes hobbies so engaging.

Okay, the rest of you world-weary lot - you may resume piling on...
