5726/1A-014 vs 5712/1A-001
If money wasn’t a problem and you had the opportunity to choose between the 5726/1A-014(blue dial 2019) and the 5712/1A-001 what would you choose?
Considering that the difference in price doesn’t matter and that it would take as much time to receive one or the other, also, no resell. |

Please see my post regarding what I think of the 26 https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=664551 |

5712. I like the thinner nautilus models more.

5712 for me. Original (thinner) Nautilus proportions. Fantastic 240 "micro rotor" movement. Such a lovely asymmetric dial that is more art than science.

I've read that micro rotor movements can, in some instances, be less accurate. I'm guessing this isn't the case with the 5712a |

ok, I'll decent on this one.
I'd take the 26 in blue cuz the date functions are much easier to read, the dial is symmetrical without being boring, and the center seconds takes it over the top. also, i think having the 5711 in the drawer already makes it too close to the 12, given similar thickness. so having the 26, for me, would be greater diversity. |

From a non-technical point of view the micro rotor stands out as a more unique movement compared to all the full rotor movements out there. It has been the work horse behind many historically significant Pateks (e.g. world timers and perpetual calendars) and thus have a lot of Patek DNA. AFAIK both the 324 and 240 based Pateks leave the manufacture with the Patek seal -3 to +2 sec. accuracy...so no difference in accuracy. |

I'd probably take the 12 but as I have the 11R maybe the 26 would offer more differentiation, would have to see it first.

5712 but I'm biased as its my first Patek. everyday wearing it is as great as the first time I put it on.

5712 is what I would have gone for if I only could get one or have one. It’s just aesthetically pleasing in many ways.
Now I have the 12 and 26, I wear the 26 more as it’s much more practical with the date functions and feels just right on the wrist as far as weight. So 12 if it’s going to be my one and only for sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I actually have a white 5726 that I wear as a daily. The one I just got was the grey dial. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If money is not an issue, I will get both. They are very different watches with very different complications.

From experience 5712a is a delicate watch with a water resistance of 60m vs the 5726's 120m.
I really like the thinness and the added aesthetics of the caliber 240 from 5712 while I equally drool over the seconds hands and the symmetry of the 5726. You can't go wrong with either but the choice would largely depend on your lifestyle. Do you want to wear it with a dress suit or a diving suit? Planning to wear it to the pool or baby it in your winder? |

It's very close. I could roll a dice and happily take either one.
