Hi
I am new here but since 2003 a big fan of the brand and kept on buying new ones

Since rolex doesn’t want to sell new steel watches anymore i had a chhance of buying sole vintage pieces

Since i am learning a lot in the last weeks, could you guys give me more info on it. It’s a 1976 … full set

Appears to be a serif dial with a service bezel insert.

BTW, I'm pretty sure this is in the wrong forum. Should be in Vintage.

Nice set - could use clearer pictures.

I messaged a Mod to help move this to Vintage section of forum.

It's not the original "fat font" bezel. Google some images to compare them, and check the font and the thickness of the tick marks.

OP,

here is a pic of my 71 5513, please see the difference in the insert numbers. My numbers are what is considered "fat font" numbers. There are also different variations of fat font inserts so not all would be correct for your piece.

The font on your insert is whats known as a thin service font. Someone has swapped out the lumi pearl for a matching aged tritium pearl on your insert which is common practice.

hope this helps.

If you post the link to the place you saw this online, we may be able to help a bit more. And we’d know this was a legit listing you wanted us to vet.

Can you do that?

Why is that important?
For all anyone here knows, this could be replica work. Without references, you could be a new scam artist (or an old one who was banned using a new ID) trying out your soon to be listed super fake.

Don’t take that personally, but the Vintage section was recently leveraged by such a person so everyone’s radar is now at full power...

Clasp isn’t original but you should have seen that with a naked eye.

Without seeing the engraved numbers between both lugs, nor a close up of the papers, nor the movement...we can’t say whether you’re looking at a franken watch, or worse.

It is a nice “looking” set - but that is just from blurry pictures. I added the “quotes” because no way for us to be sure.
