My boss finally noticed my sub

When I first started working here 10 months ago, I was afraid that being the new guy with a Rolex would come off as a bit showoffy. Well, I worked hard for it and wore it proudly waiting for the inevitable “is that a Rolex??” but not 1 soul ever mentioned it here in an office with hundreds of people. Sure, I must’ve gotten some glances but never a comment until today. My boss says quite loudly “are you wearing a Rolex??” I laughed and gave him a closer look. Then another coworker says “ooh you have a Rolex?” UGH it’s a slow Friday and not many people are here to turn their heads but the secrets finally out. Surprised it too so long!

If that’s the worst thing that happens to you today, consider yourself lucky.

If I were a manager and noticed a subordinate wearing Rolex, I would assume that guy probably has his shit together.

Ehh everyone at my office knows I collect watches. It’s not really a big deal and I get enjoyment out of showing them my latest piece. Be proud and enjoy it :)

One of my peer noticed mine a month ago. I told him it’s fake. He asked me if I got it from the Hong Kong trip and I said yeah lol. People gossip too much at work.

Would you rather have them gossiping about you wearing a fake Rolex?

Icon20 shitter watch wearers

I used to worry about wearing my explorer 1 OR my seamaster at work, but soon realized the people can't recognize a rolex from a shitter watch. so, i wear whatever I want. no one notices. I just bought a 2008 submariner and will wear it all the time.

If I see someone wearing a late model sub at work, I will get out my 10x loop and look for the crown above the 6. then i start examining the font, etc etc. Only after careful inspection will i say, "nice sub!"

My managing director likes my Airking the most. Regarding the Sub his opinion is that it is a very common Rolex which many people wear. The DD he does not like so much, too flashy and he has kindly asked me not to wear it to customers. Visiting suppliers and in our office no problem at all. BTW he wears Longines and Maurice Lacroix.

I haven't been in the same state as my boss in about 10 years. I have no idea what sort of watch she wears, she doesn't turn the camera on for our calls.
