5712r

AD texted me has one arriving this year and its mine if I want it. Not my top choice, but getting something in steel is highly unlikely at the moment. Was originally planning on purchasing a mint 5070G, but might settle for the 5712 at retail and pocket th extra $$. Any owners have pics and any comments on the 5712? Saw one in person 10 days ago and thought it was much nicer in person.

Pics welcome!

It’s my dad’s watch. I prefer nautilus on bracelet(steel or gold) as I think of it more of a sport piece than dress.

It’s a very nice watch... wears like a dress watch. Very pretty.

It's a great watch and very comfortable. No urge to wear anything else including steel one since I got it. Try it and sure you'll love it.

“Not my top choice” tells me you should pass and hold out for the version You want. I personally would not want a Nautilus on strap as I find it too dressy.

about 4 years ago when i bought my 5712r, i had the choice between the 3 of them: A, R or G. They were pretty much freely available.

So I put them all side by side and on the wrist. Picking the 5712r could not have been easier: it was the warmest and felt the most special.

Despite the asymmetrical price rise of these models, i do not regret my choice a single minute.

The only + of the 5712a was that it was so comfortable to wear. The most comfortable watch i ever tried on.

The thing is, the 5712a is a 'false' daily: it's both too expensive and fragile (polished surfaces so exposed).

So i'd rather have my 5712r and wear it on more special occasions and wear a ceramic daytona as a daily.

Probably not the best logic, but one that works for me.

This is exactly my thoughts as well. I’m actually considering selling mine during this bubble. I’ve seen them advertised for $80,000!

I really like this piece and was heavily considering it just before the 5711r was released.

You aren’t the only one to feel this way! Perfectly describes how a feel about my 5711 now. Especially after it picked up a slight ding on the bezel from what I have to guess was a mild breeze.

I still want a 5712a though. And the R is beautiful too. What is wrong with me?

I think . you can't go wrong with any Nautilus now, whether in RG or SS. I don't own it and saw it several times. Nice piece. Although I wish the dial is more "chocolate".

Congrats. Both great pieces. Although on strap I still think of 5712R as a sporty piece in fact it gets much more wrist time than the steel 5726. So comfortable with the composite strap and a bit more low profile on the wrist apart from the shiny bezel.
