AP boutique wait list

Hi

I have an appointment scheduled for tomorrow at AP's boutique and wondered if they have a wait-list or if they take a deposit? asked and was told they don't but they would "register my interest".

Mostly I am hoping to be allocated a 15450 or 15500.

Any advice or tips on what I should ask for or talk about?

I believe the 15500 has a waitlist anywhere you go.

I was in Vegas last weekend and happen to visit the LV boutique, I was told they can't take a deposit on 15500,15450 and 26315 steel until next year.

Never mind. Sorry I tried to help. If you don’t think it matters whether the boutique is owned by AP or not, whether it’s in the US or somewhere else, then I dont know what to say. Not all handle these matters in the same fashion.

AP will not take a deposit unless they are certain that the piece will come in within the same calendar year.

Just don’t be a needy prick and don’t expect to be allocated either of those. Your best bet is to start with a ROC or ROO. If you don’t like that you will likely not enjoy your visit. Just being honest.

did not want to make it sound bad but it seems it did to you. It's a US boutique owned by AP.

I am not, they know that I have interest and I am just visiting to try different timepieces and of which mm should fit my rest better. If I get allocated for next year's supply then I am happy if not, life moves on.

Thanks

Just to give you an idea, I registered my interest at the AP boutique in Miami in February. I was ready to put down a deposit, but they said said they wouldn't take one because they had established customers on their list and that it would be at least a year before I could get a grey 15500.

4 months later I got an email from them saying they could allocate one for me and if I was still interested, to put down the deposit. So I did, and they told me I should get the watch in a month or two. I received it 6 days later!

On another note, I stopped by the Geneva boutique last month. They told me the wait there for the black and grey is a year. The blue they had no idea how long, but much longer than that.

Thank you sir, this is very helpful. Is it the boutique in bal harbour, heard they are great.

One question did you have a purchase history with the boutique in Miami?

Yes, Bal Harbour. They are great!
And no, I did not have a purchase history with them.
But the fact that I live locally helped. They told me that several of their clients were not able to take delivery of their allocation because they were away on vacation, so they had to go down the list as they need to move the pieces before AP sends them more stock. The fact that I was able to go and pick it up as soon as it came in helped.

They seem to underpromise and over deliver in my experience. Be nice. Make a new friend. It’ll go a long way to help you.

Sadly, "registering your interest" is synonymous with "thank you but it's not happening". Even actual lists that are legit these days could have you hanging on for years if you are not a "loyal customer" of that specific location. Some of the time when you chat them up they will be transparent and tell you the same thing in a nice way. This is a tough time to be buying anything desirable from the big names and will get even worse as holiday season approaches.

They took my name and absolutely over delivered after a few weeks. I think the trick is to be open minded about dial colors.

Congrats, and enjoy in good health! :)

Though, I can't be open minded about colors when I'm spending this much. I want what I want. :)
