Not sure if santa has come early or has a sense of humour

I was recently outbid on 5270G no chin. Auction house just contacted me to state the winner cannot complete and would I like the watch at my bid which is $93750 all inclusive.

Sadly kind of blown the budget thus month on other purchases so it's either a godsend or a cruel joke if I have to say no

Just use next months budget and pull the trigger. You’ll regret it if you don’t because $93k is an excellent price.

Have them check the bidding records and if it was just you and the other bidder who bailed out at the higher pricing, eliminate all bids from the other person and so the lowest competitive bid you made against a different qualified bidder should be the final pricing.

This is good advice. OP: there will always be another watch and another opportunity. If you can snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, great. Otherwise, wait for the next one.

001 or 018?

If 018 that's a killer deal.

Still a great price. Tough call. I would agree you're in a position to negotiate.

That is what was confusing to me. The first series trades around 100K. When you said "no chin" you are in a different league entirely. Both the chin and the 018 made right after it were very limited production white dial models, especially the 018. Whereas, there are scads of 001s out there. I would not rush to pick up an 01 at 97K. I do not see them going much lower but this price is easy to find elsewhere when you are better able to swing the purchase.

Not a good sign that they have people bailing out. I would offer a lower offer or just walk away.
