WTF did I just do to my SD43! Ohh no! 😏

Oh wow, I think I may have fubared my TT SD43!

See, I came home from biking and jumped in the shower before heading off to dinner with my parents. I was rushing because octogenarians don’t like to eat later than 5:30!

Anyway, I jumped in the shower and forgot to take off my SD43! I know, crazy right and worse...it got really wet!

Not only did water splash all over it but also doused with shampoo. If this could be even worse, it was hot in there too. There was STEAM like in a sauna so that’s really bad!

Do you think the seals were damaged by the hot water and steam? Potential corrosion from the shampoo? Damn my foolish rushing about!

What should I do? Send it to the RSC or find a local authorized repair center? I’ll have to call my insurance agent in the morning and put in a claim for the water damage now.

Will it ever be as good as new again? Maybe I should just sell it cheap and let someone else deal with it.

Just look at this mess...

The gold will come off with the shampoo - these are designed for salt water use only - fresh water will kill the orings- you better take that beast to the beach and get some salt water in it before is too late. Lol nice watch. What is the msrp for it now?

OMG...I didn’t know the shampoo would flack off the gold!

I’m in AZ this week and hundreds of miles from any salt water ocean!

Wait, what if I dump a bunch of salt in a glass and drop in the watch? Will that fix it?

Ohhh, but I have know way of measuring the proper amount of salt to use? And are we talking like brackish levels of salt, Mediterranean or like Dead Sea?

I’m soooo screwed!

Great idea. Do you use Rolex authorized caps or generic? Are they model specific or a ones size fits all?

I mean not too brag but mine is BIGGER than most of you guys so would want to make sure it would fit!

If Rolex ever introduced a special coating on these models so that the gold wouldn't get scratched, I'd have bought this model long ago.

What type of cloth do you recommend to remove the hard water stains?

Oh that’s nice...wait what?

Is that one of these modern things I don’t quite get when someone “identifies” with then they are?

So your 35 year old wife identifies as an 80 year old then she is one. Gets to have an AARP card, senior citizen discount at the movie theater, right?

Mmmmm...
