Trade 116600LN for 116515LN? HELP!!!

So I am still lusting for a PM piece on Oysterflex. Something about rose gold and rubber just helps me get up in the morning : ) I have black 11500LN and love the watch, but a few weeks ago I ran into a friend with a 116515LN Chocolate Panda and it has me thinking...a lot...too much! He offered to trade me the 116515LN for my 116500LN and I add $6k.

My core Rolex collection:
5513 Maxi
126710BLRO
116500LN Black

Pros & Cons:

116500LN Black:
Pros: Classic, timeless, clean and bold design
Cons: Hype, Not as comfortable as Oysterflex or vintage bracelets. If I let go, will not get again at retail.

116515LN Chocolate:
Pros: Sunburst dial is bananas, Oysterflex is more comfortable to me, Feel of gold is great.
Cons: Is dial/metal combo as versatile? Will it stand the test of time?

I love the black C, but have two other black dial Rollies on bracelets. This trade could give me the PM I love and diversify my collection. On the other hand, I don't want to regret letting a classic go.

What would you all do???

I’d say go for it, PM is worth it especially if you paid retail for the DaytonaC

I too am lusting for an OF Daytona but can't for the life of me figure out which one. Personally I would be tempted to stay put here. Stick to the blue chips until we see if there's going to be any smoking deals on watches this summer.

I went from 116500 to a 116519 and never regretted it.

How about getting an OF or aftermarket rubber band for the steel Daytona? The brown dial doesn’t do it for me, but haven’t seen it in person. Seems to me the steel Daytona would hold value better.

Personal preference/choice, of course, but value-wise, it's a good deal, assuming both are in the same condition and full sets. I would do that deal. The OF Daytonas are stunning.

Based on your title I thought you were going to trade a SD4K for a PM Daytona and was about to say I wouldn’t do that

I still wouldn’t do that trade though

Wearing mine today. I haven’t owned the new steel ceramic Daytona.. but I seriously doubt it would beat this. You would be surprised just how heavy it is even without a bracelet it feels like pure class.

I personally would keep the 500LN and put the OF on it. The 500LN will still be difficult to obtain in the future.

But whatever you choose, they both are great watches!!

I'd do it, esp as you have the BLRO, one hyped SS is enough.

Personally, I wouldn't do it. I think your SS is more versatile watch.

Makes me wonder why he wants to trade down?

I would do it. I Like the stainless Daytona, but the pm is a different level.
