Incoming arrived, BLNR Batman, but it doesn't sing to me....

I had not seen this watch in person ever.....so it was hard to judge based off the pics alone. I figured I'd buy one and see if I liked it more than my 116710LN. It just came an hour ago....and the BLNR just doesn't do it for me. It's a nice watch....but I really appreciate more now the formal-ness of the all-black GMT.

Thoughts? Anyone else get a Batman and just end up not loving it?

I would give it some time. You have to get to know the watch before you truly appreciate it. If it still doesn’t sing to you after a little while, move it along..

Yeh, I don't think this is going to change. When I received my CHNR TT, I knew right away it was amazing. I just don't feel it at all with the BLNR.

I got married in my black LN and have had it for 6 years.....I think that's part of it, too.

I agree. Plus the change to the Jubilee bracelet on the latest iteration was a deal breaker for me.

If it doesn't sing to you right away... I don't think it ever will.

I'm gonna get smoked now but I felt the same way about the Hulk. I waited and waited and sold it in the end.

Good luck with your choice.

I worn mine twice after buying. I didn’t like it too much before I purchased but it was a great offer after an exhausting hunt for other pieces. Has been sitting in a box. Been so close to selling it but it was hard to find it and it’s growing on me. I want to really like it and I haven’t let go yet. But it’s growing on me.

It definitely sings to me, but I will never, ever, pay a premium, but that's just me.
At the end of the day....It's just a watch.....

Same for me. Owned one for about a week, but knew in the first 48 hours. Whats ironic is that the BLNR in pictures is what got me interested in modern Rolex. Its a great looking watch, but for whatever reason didn't do it for me on the wrist.

I think my biggest obstacle (and why I’ve been hesitant to wear it lest I can’t sell it as well if I decide to part) is that once that polished center link starts getting scratched, the overall aesthetic drastically declines. The Batman doesn’t age gracefully. I’ve seen it on someone’s wrist banged up and it just looked ugly. So I want to keep mine but I’m concerned I’ll regret not selling it once it gets scuffed and dinged. Now my sub on the other hand...beat the heck outta it and it looks great!

Sorry you’re not liking it. I think it looks incredible on your wrist.

I went the other way...always remember years ago seeing the 5-digit GMT's in AD's cases and never understood why someone would opt for the bi-color bezel. At the time, I thought it was too informal. Now, as I've learned to appreciate the watch, the heritage and quite frankly, have a better understanding of Rolex in general, I've come to really appreciate and like the bi-color bezels of the GMT. To each his own...but I think it's a fantastic looking watch.

Oh, and in full disclosure, I had a co-worker who felt the same way...liked the all black GMT forever...he just recently got a 126710BLNR and loves it. So I guess people can change.

me too. I couldn't warm up to it, after owning one for 5 years and not wearing much, I sold it earlier this year. I dont like the blue/black bezel and the maxi case design.

I guess it's the blue that I don't love.....and that's literally the only difference between the LN and BLNR is half a blue bezel. If it were navy blue, I'd love it more.

Oh well, putting it in the classifieds now. I will not take trades (some people have PM'ed me), I am totally good with my LN and realize it's a keeper.

It’s really odd. The colors seem like they would appeal to me, but the watch itself I have passed twice on (once at 10 off years ago). Sell it if it doesnt sing to you. It would be silly to spend the $ and not be happy with it.

Life is too short. Sell it and move on.

For what it's worth....I am on my 4th Batman lol but the first on Jubilee. I got it just before lockdown so haven't taken it out yet. Until you start wearing it out and enjoying it - think it's hard to get a buzz wearing it at home.
I will say this tho - the Batman is a very easy watch to give up and sell hence the many times I've owned it.

I like mine! Give it time!

I previously owned the all black version of the GMT. I sold it after I bought my Sub because I thought they looked very similar.

But I missed my GMT and I liked the BLNR Batman’s splash of color. Wear yours for a couple of weeks and see if you bond with it.

Dont like something sell it and move on. I had a kermit that i bought due to hype, never was a green person and eventually sold it. Keep what you enjoy and look forward to wearing

Yeah, the watch looks great on everyone's wrist.....but again, for what I paid for it, is it that much better then my GMT LN? Not to me.

This is cause and effect....I would have known this had I been able to go into an AD and, alas, actually see a SS model in person. They really need to provide AD's with dummy watches or display only watches.

Thats exactly what happened to me ! I bought one after having owned the LN version but ended up selling it.

A few months later I wanted to try again again and got lucky to have found one at an AD. But alas, I never bonded with it and ended up trading with a Pepsi.

In the mean time I also got myself the CHNR and I can't take the CHNR off the wrist. The Pepsi is dull when compared to the CHNR.
