SELs came out around 2001.
I think the solid link bracelets came out with the 42mm cases.

there is some overlap on years as certain models received the upgrade first. Some explorer 2s ended up with a holes case and SEL and some became T cases with SEL, likely around the 2001-2002 time frame. The engraved rehaut also has overlap and showed up more around the tail end of the Z serials. Some received 3186 movements while some had 3185s.
