Retail therapy; new (old) Cal. 3186 Explorer II 16570

The lockdown has eased in my home town now, shops are open, people are still kinda staying at home but those who venture out are social distancing and being smart.

First thing I did was pick up a nice V serial Polar Explorer II cal. 3186.

I now understand what all of the Explorer fanatics see in this reference! It's the first one I've owned personally, I've sold a a few of these but never kept for myself, this thing is pretty unique looking, really easy to read, lovely bright lume, the blackened lume plots are also very attractive, honestly it's the perfect daily wearer and when you walk down the high street it's a nice point of difference in a sea of Submariners!

Any way, this watch will forever remain in my collection as my post-Corona 'freedom' piece and my way of celebrating the slow but sure return to normality.

J

Yeah I'm 2and owner, it's been well looked after though, nice honest scratches here and there and unpolished.
