Possible co branding?

So guys I’m curious to hear from the community about your thoughts on cobranding. If Rolex ever did a co brand would you guys be pissed or would you dig it? What brands do you think would work well and with which models do you think they would work well with?

How about Rolex + Supreme? I'd throw my BLRO in the lake in protest if Rolex did this. One insanely stupid act deserves another.

But seriously...

I think Rolex is better off with their current brand strategy.

I’ve never been entirely sure what this supreme nonsense is, but I am so sick of seeing and hearing about it. Played.

Rolex has no need to co brand.

I rather not see co branding personally. Rolex needs nothing or no one else attached to it

Rolex doesn't need a hyped brand. It is one of the most hyped brands out there already.

Well, if Rolex cobranded their GMTs with "Phillips," the auction results would make a bit more sense.

Over in the co-branded Rolex dial thread you'll see fire collabos like this:

Alex Clark x Rolex

Mackay & Chisholm x Rolex

Brock & Co. x Rolex

If Rolex had Tiffany stamped current models people would go INSANE for them and prices would skyrocket. Guaranteed.

For those that don't know, Supreme is a NYC based company who's entire business model looks like an exercise in co-branding. Basically, they're a logo. Oh... and they sell tshirts.

Possible co branding?

I agree, a Tiffany logo on there would make people go bonkers and probably be highly collectible. For the record I am not suggesting that Rolex needs to co brand. Although the thought of it is intriguing.

Another thing that would be interesting is a model tied to or labeled for a specific person. Rolex some what does the with the James Cameron Deep Sea. You guys think they will do other versions of this with their current lineup? Like how Richard Mille has actual models designed for certain people? Thoughts?

I wouldn't pay $50 for a Disney Rolex
More to lose than gain with cobranding

Co-branding and collaborations between brands nowadays is typically a certain brand's failure in efficiently marketing and selling their product as a single entity and now they need to latch onto another's in order to gain success. It doesn't apply to every brand and partnership (as some are historic like Tiffany's or Beyers) but 99% time it is these projects (Supreme X everything).

For the sake of Rolex, they need to walk away from co-branding. They have plenty of success running their current program without anyone else.

Ive actually heard from a friend that HypeBeast got a limited run of Rolex made at the official factory with HypeBeast logos on the dial.

Im skeptical but when I pressed him on it and he was adamant that he’s seen them and spoken to the people involved.

this is not entirely true. they originated as a skateboard brand and they do have some cool stuff but they basically have a cult following now and people will pay hundreds of dollars for anything with just the word supreme on it. their business model is exclusivity and thats how the maintain their hype

Nike has done some stellar things with co branding. Look at the recent Ben and jerry Nike dunks also the Dior air Jordan ones. Both of these pairs are a HUGE success.

I completely agree that they don’t need anyone to be successful, but it can be highly collectible to have pieces that are co branded.

This did come to mind for me as well. But in this case my understanding was the domino’s logo was applied outside of ROLEX. Maybe another poster knows more.

the ben and jerry dunks are interesting because if it was years ago no one would care but now there's a huge resurgence of hype for sb's, partially thanks to travis scott lol. collabs can definitely be huge if done right though

Agreed.

A buddy of mine was able to scoop a pair at retail for 100 bucks. I saw them selling online at stockx for about 2g canadian. Wild times we live in.
