16710 Help!

Hi All, I am new here, even though I have read a lot of threads in the forum which helped me a lot!

I see a nice piece of 16710 COKE, it is $8564, only watch, from 1993. I have looked around the 2nd market and this seems to be the best price, others might be few hundred more. I am wondering if this is a good market rate for watch only?

Rolex made hundreds of thousands of 16710’s they aren’t rare or scarce.

But they are beautiful! I'm sure there are a lot of "rare" ugly watches out there.

I don't believe the original poster said anything about the watch being "rare."

Uh, ok. What does that have to do with the price of tea in China?....or with the OP, for that matter?

I don’t know what’s a good value these days. I can tell you that I bought my full set D serial (2006) 16710 BLRO in 2016 for $5900.

Looks like you have checked some prices and answered your own question?

Thanks a lot for your response! Yes there are plenty of Second hand choice in Hong Kong, however of all this is the one with the best price. But since I am not an expert, I’m just wondering if this price is considered reasonable nowadays in the second hand market for this model.

Price is dependant on condition. Polished or not, how sharp are the edges etc. cant really tell condition from your pics. But a 'watch only' in v good condition in the us can set you back 9.5 to 10.5k

Also yours is a 93, so should price lower than the later models. Price seem fine if condition is good

Price is good but can't say much about the condition based on this pic.

Almost $9k seems like a reasonable price, however price can vary greatly depending on condition. That’s a tritium dial, yet has very minimal to no patina, if it glows in the dark still, then it may be a service dial, that would affect the price some. Also the magnification looks off on the cyclops, perhaps an aftermarket crystal? As always, but the seller!!

Exactly and the only price to pay with any Rolex watch is the one prospective owner is willing to pay.

I would strongly consider that price if I was in the market for a GMT.

However, make sure to examine the watch physically and verify with the seller (or even a certified watchmaker you trust) that it is all 100% genuine Rolex parts from the bezel insert, to the sapphire crystal, and everything else.
