Is the 116600 still the best modern Rolex?

New subs look cool, but I can’t say they are better than the 1st ceramic sea dweller. It’s like a 911 vs 911 turbo!

Yeah I’m with you. I will take my SDK any day of the week versus the New Submariner

Perfect lugs that most everyone seems to love today. Matte dial. Perfect fit. Just sayin...

Some say it's bulky and top heavy so I don't know.

no I dont think so. there are many models I take over this, for example, 16610LV, 116610LV, 116710BLRO, 126660 d-blue, and list goes on.

One of the best underrated modern Rolex out there. If the Hulk is selling at these stupid prices. The SD should be way more considering it was only out for 3 years.

Nothing beats a 116600 IMO. Even if they released a single red SubC 40mm thin lugs, 3235, I’d still say the 116600 beats it. Rolex did not do that lol. 41mm was a terrible idea IMO (even if it wears smaller than 116610).

Here here. Preach brother. Hope it does. I got mine with a card dated 10/11/2014, first year released at Basel.

I’d say the JC is hands down the best dial now. I loved the dial on the hulk prior to it being discontinued

I think the lugs are a little stubby but it’s otherwise perfect

I think the SeaDweller 43 is perfect. Red line, 3235 movement first, 21mm wide bracelet, proportions are good. No need for this new sub.

The new SD are too thick and huge at 43mm. I had a hard time loving the maxi case on the subs. The tapered lugs on the 116600 hugs the wrist nicely that the extra thickness doesn’t matter. I like the ceramic Daytona, but it’s function never served an every day purpose for me.

I can’t wait till we see the new Sub next to a SDK.

Slimmer profile and tapered lugs on the new Sub, welll that’s the SDK.

You know the one that didn’t sell well and got discontinued but the new Sub is the shiznit lol

No thanks

I believe the SD4k 116600 is the best Rolex dive watch ever made.

Yes, I own one. I’ve tried on all the others and find it to be superior in every way.

Just my opinion.

If the bezel was matte and the end links matched the contour of the case, the 40mm sea dweller would’ve been the perfect Rolex IMO. The proportions of the new Submariner are now what they should’ve been 10 years ago. I like that they made the lume thickness on the hour and minute hands match as well as longer hands that sweep across the minute track like they are supposed to. They got all the details right (especially the lugs) even though the size numbers aren’t perfectly even. Visually the new Submariner looks like the sucessor to the 14060M which is the reason I am going to try and get my hands on one ASAP!

I tend to agree; best all-around and bonus for the limited run. But I have a special affinity for the DSSD as well.
