Incoming! Aqua Terra

Merry early Christmas to me!

I’ve been eyeing this one for a while and pulled the trigger over the weekend. After looking over my current pieces, I decided I needed something a little different. I wanted a light dial. I wanted a smooth bezel, no numbers. I wanted something versatile (strap options, dress up/down). And no blue. I have a few pieces with blue, and I love the color, but I wanted some variety. I’ve always been a big fan of the white/orange of the Explorer 2, but the watch doesn’t fit my wrist right. When Omega released this with the pop of orange, I was sold. I also really like the date at the 6 o’clock position. The symmetry works for me. The fit/finish of the watch and bracelet definitely help dress the AT up. The coloring on this particular one will probably stay a little more casual for me, but that’s ok.

As others have mentioned, the rubber strap is fantastic. I am finding that I’m between sizing holes, though. Going to wear it for a while and see how it settles in or what I like, otherwise I may just punch an ‘in between’ hole. Lol The plan is to pick up the bracelet, as well.

This is probably the most legible watch I own. Even more than the Pelagos. With the contrast of the darker indices and hands, its super easy to read at a glance. At an angle, the dial darkens a bit and almost looks like a slate color. It adds to the personality of the watch and is something I wasn’t expecting. I am also really impressed with the finishing on the case. While the lugs and bezel are polished beautifully, both sides of the case are brushed. Just a nice touch to add to the balance of the AT.

I wasn’t actually expecting to buy right now, especially before the holidays, but with all the crap this year, I’ll take a good surprise when it comes along!

Obligatory pictures, including a current shot of the full collection.

And a nice travel case from the Jeweler. It was a great first transaction with this particular AD. The pen has a really nice weight to it.

I've been quite surprised. The dial is proving more dynamic than I expected.

Thank you. I think it'll fit nicely as a choice. Next up: a chrono...or maybe a Panerai. lol

edit: I guess the Tissot is a chrono. I don't wear it much other than a kick around and kind of forgot. haha

Nice piece. I like it with the grey dial and blue leather strap. Nice color combo with the grey dial and blue hands. Enjoy that baby..

I was wondering if anyone would notice. I can't claim that I keep them like that, but I did it for the picture...because...well... I'm a nerd and I was bored. LOL

I looked at the grey dial/blue strap version. That's a fantastic color combo.

I did almost change my mind when I tried on the Apollo 8 Dark Side of the Moon Speedy. Someone posted one here the other day. Seeing it in person...Wow, that's a spectacular watch!

Looks great and I love the color combination of the dial, hands and strap. Agree with you the date window at six is perfect (I recently added a 300M) since it keeps it symmetric. Congrats on the addition. The AT keeps pulling me in...

I tried one on at an OB on bracelet and loved it. The bracelet has a hidden clasp and looks really sharp with the PCL's. Not sure what they cost to add but would be great to have both the strap and bracelet.

I think the bracelet is somewhere arount $6/700. I will definitely be picking one up. I agree with you. It looks really nice and is very comfortable.

Thanks all!

Will post some natural light photos when I take a few. That might require me to put real clothes on and leave the house. I already did that over the weekend, and now it's cold and icy. It might be too soon!

Beautiful watch...I’ve been eyeing the AT on rubber as well. Is your dial silver or white. Looks great with the orange touch
