The move from the super cases...

Speculations, but anyway;

We can now see that Rolex is moving away from the fat lugs. How come they didn't change this on the latest versions of the GMT? Launched in 2018, I guess Rolex knew what was coming for the SUB so why dindn't they do the 41mm/wider bracelet thing then?

When do you think we should se the thinner lugs GMT?

Two points. Rolex could have wanted the classic GMT line to stay 40mm. Rolex might change it as to give another very minor update for everyone not to be impressed about in the next year or two. Rolex didnt want to shoot their entire decade load of incremental changes on this year.

It's a small but noticeable transition. The cases are still super but just less so. You still have the slab sides and largely less curvy cases.

Moot point for Rolex as they sell every super case model they produce.

The nice thing with Rolex is that we will never know their reasoning for doing or not doing something

My recollection is that they did make some slight changes to the case/lug profile of the revised GMT II. It didn’t get much publicity at the time.

Good question. Don't really care at all for the fatter lugs. Just doesn't look right IMO.
