Removing a Bracelet - without damaging it?

HELP!!,

I purchased my 300M on a bracelet and purchased a Omega strap at the same time to go along with it. As some of you know I intend to have my clasp engraved. So I was attempting to remove the bracelet and install my strap so I could take my band to the engraver. I was attempting to use a normal spring bar tool to release the pins. But the tolerances are so tight in the end links I cannot get the pin to release one at a time. It appears that maybe both ends have to be released at the same time? Any suggestions???????

Hold the watch upside down and apply a bit pressure to the lug area of the bracelet as you gently pry each side. Reach your tool to the very outer edge of the pin. This can all be done without much effort needed. You may not think one side is out until you release the other and it slides right out.

It’s not the easiest bracelet.

Agree

It's all about putting pressure on the lug area. You need to just barely dislodge one side of the spring bar, hold it just outside of the hole by applying pressure, then dislodge the other side. Takes some practice.

The strap will be much easier to install and remove vs the bracelet.

One other thing, on my Moonphase the strap uses different spring bars than the bracelet. Not sure if that is the case with the 300M or not but might be worth checking

Thumb on case back and index finger pressing against top of end link towards case back. Pop one side out at a time. Takes some practice but easy once you get the technique down.

SUCCESS!!!
That proved to be a little more difficult than I thought. But finally got that hang of it after reading all the post. And no scratches, (miracle!)

Thanks a lot for the guidance!

Thanks, I have got so attached to this one. I've had some very nice watches in my life. But this one is a real pleasure to wear.

it took me a few tries to get the hang of it. I think at first i was also intimidated because of the value of the watch i didnt want to be forceful in any way, but you do need to be purposeful

i have the same exact reference as you OP and i frequently switch back and forth between the strap and bracelet, i like them equally both in wrist feel and looks.

Im on the rubber today as well :)

I am not a strap guy.... Or haven't been mainly because my favorite color is stainless steel. But I have to say, I wish I had tried it sooner! I like the strap as it's so light. I guess I had got accustomed to the P.O. and 300M chronograph weight that I did not know what I was missing. I have also ordered a "racing" strap. Blue leather that is perforated with small holes. Thought it looked nice. May try that when it comes in. But for now I am surely enjoying the strap and new look.

This watch really looks at its best on rubber in my opinion...it's climbing up my list. May pull the trigger soon as summer is fast approaching!

Glad you managed to get this done, Wayne! Got to love Omega for the OEM options they offer for these wonderful watches. So many choices, it's great! The variety equals more enjoyment long-term.

Have it back on the Bracelet today. Used this tool to remove and replace the band/ Bracelet. Best thing since sliced bread. Crazy easy with this tool. And no scratches!
