Icon7 New to me Speedmaster Racing arrived today

Received delivery of my new-to-me Speedmaster Racing 3552.59.00 today.

Unpacking is always fun

Then there's the magic when the last watch box is open

There was one problem, the watch was one link-size too big and I didn't have a sizing tool. Out to the shed to get some 'tools' and 30 minutes later....

I am a big supporter of sharing what we pay for our watches. I find reading what others have paid, helps me price a watch I want to buy.
This cost me $3230USD but I paid in AUD ($4320) plus extra for insured postage.

Congrats on this nice piece! I like that it has the older style wooden box instead of the red vinyl. Those red fake leather boxes age TERRIBLY and literally fall apart everywhere, leaving behind red dye.

Such a nice dial on it, a true racing watch! Enjoy in good health!

Agree, my first SMP has the red box and it's not in great shape anymore.

I have an LE box too and I'll be interested to see if it goes the same way as the red box

Those limited edition box sets will hold up much better than the old red ones. Anything could!

Omega (and a lot of other brands) learned from this. Your newer style box will stand the test of time very well, similar to the wooden boxes I feel.

That dial looks slick! Not sure I've ever seen one of those before. Is that a regular production model? Still produced?

I think it was once a regular production model. No longer produced. It's from 2003+

Omega has since moved the Racing to a totally different design. No longer has the Speedmaster Professional characteristics.

Interesting. Love that it has three counters PLUS the date! Cool watch for sure
